Two weeks from signing. Gonna be a long two weeks, but would be the highest rated recruit in the programs history.

But tell me more how not going to the Sun Belt will ruin our program.

Has more to do with wanting to play for Cumbie than the program/conference...in this case, and in most cases. 90% of a recruit's decision is based on who is recruiting them, the coach(es). Still, this is a huge get, so congrats to Coach Cumbie and staff!
previously committed to USC (over Texas)

I think LaDarius Love was rated higher
Hopefully we'll get his signature on Feb 2nd. He has at least 23 offers, so its very doubtful we'll hold onto him that long.

I was gonna say until you have ink on paper, a commitment via Social Media doesn't mean much. Good luck. Hopefully he signs.
Pretty cool. I hope y'all get him.

Absolutely. This was mainly directed at the fan base who celebrated the death of our program a little prematurely. I’ll give you a hint, it starts with Laugh and ends with Ayette.
Hard to get too excited about this. First, he hasn't signed, and second even if he does, he'll have one foot in the portal... The game has changed. Just have to wait to see who takes the field on Saturdays to see who's actually playing for your team now. Can/will change quickly.

Yeah, a social media commitment tweet for a national recruit like this one usually just amounts to "buzz creation advertising" for the recruit and the soon to be de-committed to school. If the recruit really wants to "Commit" to the school they'd not tweet anything and stop answering the phone, emails, facetimes,...
Hopefully a sign of things to Cumbie.

Cam Newton tweeted he was going to Mississippi State.. Where did he play?

That's all I'm saying. Between now and he signs you don't know what the P5 guys will pull to persuade him to come play for them.

I must say, that is a very impressive commit for La. Tech. Honestly, at this point, I want the other programs in CUSA besides Liberty to have pretty good recruiting classes. I want this conference to be tough and competitive throughout. Hopefully for La. Tech this RB signs in Feb.
This conference will be tough. Most schools staying are committed to good football. It will be far flung but still very competitive
It’s a good get but obviously the recruiting services do not agree on him. 247 rated him as the 66th best rb in the class (86). Still definitely will help.
Just saw on Twitter that Cumbie's RB coach that he kept on staff is now coming to Troy to be RB coach.

I wonder if this changes things for Gaston?

That’s been known for a couple weeks within the Tech program. Gatson committed well after.

His relationship is with one of the SFA coaches we hired.

Yeah, at one point we had a commitment from a kid named Johnny Manziel. he changed twice after us.

What I hate is when a kid has no offers but a G5 school, who's behind him and he gets behind them, has a breakout season, and a P5 comes along and poof, forgets about the G5. Rides the pine at the P5.
