I know last year was wonky with the three-teams-in-a-pod format that Gill said was due to the 24-game schedules and cancellations. I don't remember it being popular.

Is there any news on what the format is this year? With 30 league games back on the docket, I imagine the format should change.

They were going to do two pods of four (top eight make it) in 2020 before the pandemic, guaranteeing everyone three games. I wouldn't mind that. And of course, everything changes next year with the newbies.

Personally, I'd go with eight teams split in two groups, seeded 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5. Then play double elimination within each group to produce two teams for a single championship game.

I think 10 make it this year with a play in game for 7/10 and 8/9

Coaches vote on it yearly. No idea what won this time. My guess is DE knowing who the coaches are

I think it is 10 teams— 2 play in games to get to 8 them 2 4-team DE brackets. Winners of each play 1 championship game. Not 100 percent but I think this is it

That is correct. Seeds 7 vs. 10 and 8 vs. 9 play elimination games to see which two teams enter the double elimination bracket.

The 7/10 winner joins 2,3 and 6. The 8/9 winner joins 1,4,5
