Good to see the bench getting some time.

Not impressed with the refs
Carconoa is let’s just say not that good defensively
No, he's not.

Rollins with 4 fouls will see the bench.
Not much to say about Toledo’s 94-63 win over Northern Illinois as the Rocket’s jumped on top early and never looked back. As like in other past performances against inferior teams, Toledo played a clean game and not down to the level of their opponent shooting over 50% from the field and only committing 10 turnovers. Toledo showed again their offensive balance by having all 5 starters score in double figures lead by Milner and Dennis both with 16 and Rollins with 15. All 5 starters played less than 29 minutes allowing the bench plenty of floor time which resulted in 22 points including 11 by Carcoana. With Toledo’s 3 lopsided league wins against probably the 3 worst teams in the league, things will get much more difficult with back to back road games at Miami and Bowling Green this coming week. Hopefully they play better than they did in their 1 previous game against a quality MAC opponent (Kent St) where they did not play very well in a 3 point loss.

good summary^^^

dennis had a gorgeous game. smooth, clean basketball start to finish. milner had a massive early dunk that brought the house down. and also had a very clean game and made shots. shumate a great play to open the game, stealing the deflected tip and taking it to the rim for a big dunk getting the crowd into it right away. otherwise, a fairly quiet game. rollins had foul trouble early and shot poorly 1st half but rebounded w an excellent 2nd half, before being pulled with 7 minutes to play. carcoana had an offensive break out game. on the flip side the Romanian Rhino reminded us that each new minute of floor time also results in a poor play on defense. moss didn't miss any dunks. we had at least 4 with Jacobi punctuating the win with a big tip dunk.

fun road trip. miami plays 4 guards and a pf with a guard off the bench. BG legit plays 12. i'd say their strength is forwards plowden and reece with turner playing well off the bench. they have a ton of decent guards. not sure if any are really that good. we'll see

bugs edged miami today in bowling grees 87-83 in overtime. Bowsher grad Dalonte Brown racked up 24 pts, 7 boards and 2 assists. Miami made 15 triples, their second most in a game this season and tying for the fifth most in a single game in program history. Grant hit six treys, Brown drilled five and Coleman-Lands sank three.

I didn't watch the BG/Miami game but in looking at the game statistics, it looks like Miami likes the 3 point shot as their 44 attempts shows. On the flip side, they only attempted 9 free throws so they either were not going inside much to their post players or their guards were not taking it to the hoop. With that said, Toledo will need to do a great job with their 3 point defense which has been a major strength of the team so far at a 2nd best MAC rank of 29%. We have owed Miami over the last several years but have played close games against them so it should be a good challenge for us down in Oxford on Tuesday. As Pono pointed out in his game post, Milner threw down a highlight poster dunk yesterday that both Craig Sutters and JD Weatherspoon would have applauded!
My wife and I finally got to a game. Toledo played well Throughout the game. Dennis does a great job distributing and driving to score. He had an awesome play inside to shed a defender and scored. I love this team’s ability to finish at the hoop. The starting 5 have great chemistry. Moss has really developed over the first half. Milner’s dunk was awesome. I don’t know if it made any highlights on ESPN, but it should have. Cooper’s follow-up rebound dunk was very nice late in the game, too. The bench time was great to see. The younger guys are talented and this time helps. Having these guys comfortable will make a big difference. Carcoana is making progress, as well. He had a real nice finish under the hoop that took some focus to complete, and shoots well from the line. He also squared up and nailed a three pointer. The Rockets need to make their mind up to dominate the second half. This team is very capable. Better chance than last year in my opinion. Go Rockets!!
Kooper not Cooper. Haha.
I think Miami had a season high in 3s in that BG game. Definitely a perimeter team although in some games their guards are shooting a lot off the drive or mid range, instead of 3s. Hopefully, they got the hot streak out of their system at BG. Miami has almost no post game. Precious Ayau will shoot layups and put backs but they don't run scoring plays for him and he doesn't force anything-very fundamentally sound big guy. they got a couple 6-8 guys who fill minutes off the bench but neither are big scoring threats. we seem to match up well w them last few years.
Going to the game at Miami, hope to see other Rocket fans at the game. Will try to sit in section 6 or 7 behind the Toledo bench. Don't know what the crowd will be like, in the past its been right around 1000-1200.
