The dump pass got 5 yards on 1st down, the run was to try to set up a 3 yard to go situation where they could run or pass and potentially go on 4th...that 3rd down was on Ridder, he bailed on the play.

It got 5 yards on 1st down...that is success we haven't seen. It also is smart when they have been throwing out backside pressure on 1st down and are stuck in man. No one will be there occupying that space...worst case scenario is a DB drops out of man and you only get a few yards.

Maybe it looked weird because of how high Ridder lobbed it. It almost looked like the DB could under cut it and pick it off.
Ridder needs to run the ******* ball there...cannot believe he has completely given up what made him great last year.
Ridder can't throw the ball behind the receiver there.

I was screaming the same at the TV. Take the high percentage chance at a first down over that tough pass in coverage.
The biggest problem I've always had with Ridder is his lack of improvisation. He very rarely does anything outside of the exact bounds of the play call, which is fine when you're able to out man your opponent...but he would never do that pitch that Bryce Young did on the last drive of the 1st half and that's the difference now. He cannot color within the lines this half and expect to win.

Agree.
I understood the excuse during the season: we needed Dez to stay healthy and couldn’t take the risk.
Now we are in a losers-go-home scenario. There’s no reason to hold anything back at this point.
