We’re letting him take too many jump shots this year. He is an atrocious shooter. It has really killed our offense

Per pregame some guys just came off COVID and, as such, could not practice(while they had it). I imagine the lineup reflects that.
If Toney keeps hitting his shots like that he will be an all-conference player before he leaves here.

Quan definitely should be starting and getting lots of minutes. His offense just should consist of layups, transitions and cleaning up the trash. Can’t understand why we seem to run plays for him to shoot 3s.
I sit behind the visiting bench and so far UTEPs has been the most fun. The three managers they have at the end of the bench are only missing Pom-poms. Their coach just got ejected from the game for continuing to run his mouth while Jelly was shooting his FTs from his first tech.
That’s awesome. Hopefully he doesn’t pull a tom penders
On TV, MarathonBlazer seems pleased with the ejection

Have no ide who the guy is that’s the acting head coach for UTEP now, but I just realized who the first assistant on the bench is: Butch Pierre! He was the assistant that got the LSU team we bounced from the tournament in trouble with the NCAA and also the bagman for Mark Gottfried at NC State.
So UTEP recruits are in good hands!
Quan should absolutely be starting and playing a lot of minutes. He absolutely should not be encouraged to take threes and long two point jump shots. He shouldn’t shoot more than 5 feet away from the rim. Mirror what lovan does.
Ertel has fixed his footwork. Amazing how much better is looks when in rhythm.
Good half, disappointing last couple of minutes letting a 20 point lead get shaved to 14.

He questioned whether the coach was familiar with that ref. Said you can talk a lot to some refs, but he’s not one of them. If you’re familiar with him, you know he’ll T you up quickly
As Jelly was shooting, Murry was like “he’s still going. He’s going to get another T. Watch it, it’s coming…yup, saw that one coming”
Then he questioned whether UTEP coach had ever had that ref call one of his games
