I just finished enjoying two slices of vacuum sealed Virginia country ham I received for Christmas. I never cooked this at home before and the package suggested adding coffee for “red eye gravy”. Had no idea what this meant but I tried it and it was absolutely delicious. Too bad I didn’t have real biscuits, just plain coffee cookies.
While I was eating I was thinking regretfully about not going out to the mountains to see the leaves turn this fall.
