Any relations to Samari Rolle???05-stirthepot

Or Myron?

I like this kid. Starting QB, moving to another position in college. As we all know your most dynamic playmaker usually plays qb in high school. Looks to have legit size and legit speed. Not really a QB probably hurt his recruiting because that’s where most of his tape is.

Hope he stays there for a sub .500 team. He looks like a sneaky good add.

EXACTLY.
Thompson is small but there's video out there of him running a 10.53 hundred meters, which is real fast. And he has another year of high school of course, so that number could improve.

That's more than real fast. I'd imagine that's the fastest 100m time of any NIU football player ever. You break 10.5 in HS and you start thinking about running track for a career. Waylee is easily the fastest Huskie now and he was a 10.75 100m. The only other Huskie to run anywhere near that I can recall was Jauan Wesley with a 10.83.

Im sure there are more, but the only guy from the MAC that I can recall who ran the 100m that fast is WMU's Dwayne Eskridge. He ran 10.51.

Super impressive stuff from Thompson. That 10.53 would have beaten 12 NCAA runners in last weeks 100m semifinals of the NCAA championships. And the kid who beat him?, geesh...10.33 from Mikey McClain! That's a new state record for Iowa. For context, DK Metcalf who claims he's the NFL's fastest man and wants to make the 2024 olympic 100M squad(he won't) ran a PR of 10.36 earlier this year in a track meet.

See link above for the history of the hundred meters. It's amazing that guys were running in the ten's over a hundred years ago considering they were on cinder tracks and the shoes couldn't have been too good.

Bob Hayes would be running sub 9.7 today. Sprinting has been massively improved by training techniques AND equipment technology. Not to mention pharmaceuticals. Those guys running in the 60's is similar to old time golfers using wooden shafted clubs and rubber band wound balls.

no, not really... We beat out Minnesota - Duluth. He is a project, athletic with size. Needs significant coaching and weight room, but he can move.

Hammock is a talent developer. He’s not a big talent Recruiter. Maybe after another championship he can attract upper 3 star/lower 4 star kids. But all 5 of his classes have been in the 95-100 overall rank. And that just shows how great of a coach he is.

Agree, but last years class I really like as it may be his best yet. They offered this recent OT out of their camp , so they definitely saw something they liked they really want that eyeball test on lineman. He has size and can move and that is what you need in OLine.

Does his track speed transfer to the field? He’s pretty much buried under Boone and Kelly isn’t he? No offense to the Rockets but this dude had offers to Cincy, Louisville, Arkansas, Illini, oregan state, Purdue and Utah and now he’s 3rd strong at Toledo? He got some bad advice.
Chasing stars in that business gets you fired. Trust your own scouting over whether Rivals.com thinks he’s a 2 or 3.
