Hopefully we upped the paycheck and assistant salary pool. Glad he’s sticking around.

Edit: turns out we did. In 2022, he’s at a guaranteed 900k. By 2026, it’ll be $1mil. Originally by 2024, he would be at $850k.
Other question is what did they do with buyout?

2022 is at $5mil, decreased to $3m in 2023, then to $1m in 2024. Other two years are below that.

Just in case anyone is curious, it’s already posted here: https://appstatesports.com/documents/202...?id=13322.
Nice good to see stability in the Belt.

Unfortunately these mean absolutely nothing as a G5, and a lot of low to mid card P5's. Like any of our coaches, if he wants to stay he will, if not he's gone. Haven't seen the details, but the buyout probably won't ward off any P5 money.
Some more details:

Base salary is $425,000 all 5 years

Retention bonus of $22,085/month (265,020/year) all 5 years

Annual Fund/Media Rights Payment: $210,000 year 1 up to $310,000 in year 5

Total Guaranteed:

Year 1: $900,020
Year 2: $925,020
Year 3: $950,020
Year 4: $975,020
Year 5: $1,000,020

Additional bonuses for 8+ wins, conference title appearances/wins, bowl appearances/wins, COTY, academic performance, etc.

Buyout:

Before 12/1/22 - $5,000,000
Before 12/1/23 - $3,000,000
Before 12/1/24 - $1,000,000
Before 12/1/25 - $500,000
Before 12/1/26 - $200,000
I just joined Yosef Club at the $50 level on the 10th. I’m not saying my donation put this deal over the top but…you’re welcome.

no, but at least it adds to the warchest. The buyouts we got from Satterfield and Drinkwitz were paltry.

As seen with Napier it keeps the turd P5's away. Why go to Duke when you know you are being fired in three years vs taking a good salary in hand. It used to be a no brainer to leave for any P5 now not so much. Heck we lost our coach to Tulane that will not happen now.

The buy-out for Fritz was $100,000 IIRC our AD F'ed us so bad then knee-jerked with Summer's with a dumb buy-out and had to pay him for years.
