Is that Penny is his own worst enemy. The crazy substitution patterns, the lack of identified roles, no set line up...

I know he sees it’s a problem but yet won’t change. Is he that prideful? It can’t be lack of intelligence. He certainly isn’t listening to anyone but himself.

No Penny admitted this several times this week in interviews. Said he had to limit his rotation and select his main guys to stay with and not get into what he has been doing.

and in the post game interview yesterday he said playing alot of guys is our style when he was asked about it. Penny is coming across as clueless... always shifting back and forth now.... and adding the ridiculous deflective attempt at being philosophical by saying there are other more important matters in the world than basketball. Ridiculous

Yep he's left and right--over and under--up and down--all over the place

Penny has egg on his face---he is being ridiculed/questioned/critiqued/criticized everywhere by every sports publication/network/commentator/coach in the country---he is beyond embarrassed .

The deer in the headlights look on his face in the post game presser was telling and sad---he looked defeated and clueless---grasping for straws---his face reminded me of Apollo Creed when he was on the mat pulling on the rope after Rocky knocked him down.

So he spoke of the "crazy substitution patterns" but not "the lack of identified roles, no set line up?"
I didn't like it before the season when he was talking about being national title contenders. You don't say stuff like that unless you've been to a couple of Final Fours in a row and actually have a core of players who have proven to be close. We lost a lot when Baugh and Ellis left. I don't know if the players have big heads because of early title talk and don't work hard enough, or if they're simply not good enough. I mean, we went on that big run to open up the halftime lead, but Murray State was missing all their shots during that run. That could have been due to defensive pressure, or could have simply been a cold shooting streak, I don't remember. (trying not to think about that game)

I wonder if the coach stopped showing up late for practice would help...you know he did say something about caring

my exact feeling--No clear roles definition; poor personnel combination on the floor; no offensive strategy; every (most) possesstion looks like a scramble 1 on 1 plays.
Having said all that, here is the kicker-mark my word- we are going beat Bama (my daughter goes to school there, but, Ive vested 30+ years with Tigers.)

If he's golfing, it ain't at Southwind any more. No one ever sees him.
What's so baffling is that the thing that was supposed to make this year different than 2 years ago is skilled veterans to go with the high level frosh. And those vets have regressed and led to a schism in the locker room.
