CCGs - check (congratulations Cincinnati)
Final CFP Committee Rankings Show - check (EVEN BIGGER congratulations, Cincinnati!)
Bowl Matchups Finalized - check (congratulations and good luck to all the AAC bowl teams - go win!)

And now, it is Army-Navy Week.
I'll put up an *** Official *** Game Thread within the 48 hour window, talking matchups and details. But before Thursday comes, a lot goes on in the lead up to America's Game. Here and now, one thread to hold it all.

Even with future AAC members bowling as early as 18 December and current/future AAC members bowling as early as 20 December...America's Game is the only (FBS) college football you're going to get for the next twelve days.

Go Navy!
Beat Army!
Already a thread on the sweet, sweet "Fly Navy" UA special uniforms

Spirit Spot -
Squid Game
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKqnwbqtOpM

Rylan Tuohy put together past spirit spots like "Helm Yeah" and "We give a Ship" as well as the (non-Army-Navy) "Naptown Funk"
In a spirit of "equal time" there is a thread already on Army's goatnapping: https://csnbbs.com/thread-936369-post-17...id17888025

(Actually, this was the botched first attempt. They did a bold/stupid re-attack and did get Bill XXXVI and XXXVII)
Go Navy!!!

I know Army has a better record, but did Navy have a much more difficult schedule?

By far.
Army's wins (and their Massey Composite ranking): Georgia State (73), Western Kentucky (54), UConn (128), Miami of Onio (84), Air Force in OT (37), Bucknell (FCS), UMass (129), Liberty (66)

You are what your record says you are, and we are 3-8.
Air Force whupped us, and Army pulled that one out.
Army has been executing like a service academy should - 301 rypg, second to AF 341 rypg, and Navy a distant 7th.
What's the extended forecast for Saturday's game? I know that we are starting to get cold again here, with some snow in the forecast. If it snows, which team has the advantage, if either does?

Yes. Our wins are UCF (60), Tulsa (74) and Temple (124);

Army's overall SOS ranking is 87th (Sagarin)
Navy's overall SOS ranking is 54th (also Sagarin)

Especially early in the year we were garbage, but we would have picked up a few more wins against their schedule no doubt.

So, all and all, I think we have a decent shot if the offense shows up. The confounding factor is that their D (and coaching staff) are very good at attacking option offenses, especially showing looks that make the reads more difficult. Our QBs making the right reads has probably been our biggest problem this year (poor line play at times has not helped that).

Of course, our D tends to be good at defending the option too for much the same reason.

We usually have a couple of new wrinkles to throw out in this game to counter their experience. We have been such a hot mess at times though I could see us staying very base and just trying to execute. I guess we find out.
Army's the favorite, but my spidey-sense tingles that Navy is going to win this. Navy has been playing better as the season has progressed. Throw out the Notre Dame game where they were obviously overmatched, and they finished with good wins over Temple and Tulsa and played ECU and Cincy very close.

This is not the same Navy team that was beat badly by Air Force, IMO.

Navy ...... 21

Army ..... 17

I agree that we are way different than the team involved in the Air Force debacle. At the very least, having Lavatai healthy instead of Arline is huge (even in game 1 drubbing, the offense rushed for 337).

The Temple and Tulsa wins, the ECU loss on a 54-yard Pirate FG, and the Cincy valiant effort show progress, but NONE was a complete game for sixty minutes.

I think your predict is about right...

Clearly he was inspired by Navy. NE was 2-3 passing for 19 yds, while rushing it down the Bills throat for 222 yds.

Coach Niumat was on SiriusXM ESPNU with Brock Huard and Ben Hartsock. They spent some time talking about that, mostly just a lot of respect for Belichick's attention to detail - if they put something in for extreme weather, it isn't a surprise to the team, they've prepared for it and they've practiced it. But in response to a question, Coach Niumat casually dropped "Yeah he texted me last night, after their win."

Wore that and then went out and threw 3 total passes for the game03-lmfao

Easily one of the best games to watch each year.

I’ve been trying to get to this game, but the timing has just never worked out. One of these years I will and I can’t wait.

Everyone please feel free to propagate "Jeff Monken to Duke" rumors for the rest of the week.
