General Scouting report:

Starters:
F-Jailyn Ingram 6'7" 225 lb. Sr. averages 23.0 mpg, 10.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 2.0 apg, shooting 52.8 FG%, 92.9 FT%, 31.3 3pt%
F-Braelen Bridges 6'11" 240 lb. Sr. averages 23.3 mpg, 12.9 ppg, 5.7 rpg, shooting 63.3 FG%, 60.9 FT%
G-Aaron Cook 6'2" 185 lb. Sr. averages 27.9 mpg, 11.3 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 7 apg, shooting 35.9 FG%, 60.0 FT%, 37.9 3pt%
G-Kario Oquendo 6'4" 215 lb. So. averages 23.0 mpg, 9 ppg, 2.7 rpg, shooting 50.0 FG%, 28.6 FT%, 23.8 3pt%

Starters and reserves:
F-Jabri Abdur-Rahim 6'8" 210 lb. So., started 3 games, averages 17.0 mpg, 6.4 ppg, 3.4 rpg, shooting 33.3 FG%, 68.4 FT%, 27.3 3pt%
F-Noah Baumann 6'6" 210 lb. Sr., started 4 games, averages 11.8 mpg, 4.0 ppg
G-Christian Wright 6'3" 185 lb. Fr, started 1 game, averages 18.0 mpg, 4.9 ppg, 2.3 rpg

So far for the year Georgia is a terrible shooting team. They shoot 30.0% from 3 and 65.4% from the line. They tend to turn the ball over a lot as well. Their leading scorer, Braelen Bridges is 6'11". He transferred from UIC. Oddly enough he has only 1 block for the year. Keeping Aaron Cook checked who averages 7 assists per game would be helpful.

First road game for the Tigers but hopefully we come out mad and focused.

Wasn't that two seasons ago (2019-20)?

If they are starting only 4 players, I like our chances!

Of the current 4 all of them have started all 7 games except for Oquendo who started 6. It's a little harder to determine the 5th since 3 different ones have started: Abdur-Rahim has started 3 times, Christian White once and Noah Bauman 4 times. It will probably be Bauman but Crean may go with more size with Abdur-Rahim.

it was 2020. Thanks for catching that. I used the template I had created for the WKU game. Didn't change everything like I had meant to. (because of that...I went ahead and made the Ole Miss game page too in notepad++.)

Yeah, how many times have we seen something like this, then they'll shoot the 65.4% from the 3-pt line and make 30% more FT's than we attempt.

I'm concerned about rebounding. At least they're not big bruisers, but I imagine Crean will have them fundamentally sound on the boards.

Man I hope you're right but I have a bad feeling about the next few games. Unless we've done a complete 180 we are a mess and in position to be dogged.

Hopefully the curb stomping we took shakes them awake.

WE changed the offense---went back to last years --so I guess we did a 180

Which offense did we change back to, the one at the first of last year or the end of last year?

Hardaway said the simplified scheme revolves around the same principles as the system he adopted last season that sparked a 15-4 finish and an NIT championship run.

“We tried to run more middle ball screens to try to play more of a two-man game and that just didn’t bode well for us,” he said. “That wasn’t our strength. So, we’re gonna play to our strengths now. It will be a pick-and-roll, but it’ll be at the end of different actions before we decide to get into a pick-and-roll.”
\
“I trusted them with what we teach in practice to carry it over into the games, but they used that and abused that,” Hardaway said. “Now, I have to make it more structured. (This) offense isn’t set up for you to go and shoot the ball every time. It’s designed for the ball to move. Now, they have no excuse to break the offense down. They can’t go one-on-one out of it. They’re gonna stay within the scheme of things and it’s gonna be much better for us.”
