Something in my gut says Fickell stays to finish the job at UC. He is making over 3 million now and will get a big bump in pay when UC gets its share of the B12 money. Ive always said its more fun to be a big fish in a little pond. Luke is really sitting in a great situation at UC. I can see the attraction of ND or OU but I can also see the peril in those jobs.

Marcus Freeman seems highly likely here for UC.

That would not be so bad. ND at thye end of the season was dominant on D.
I could see Matt Campbell being in play for UC if Fickell leaves. I don’t think Fickell is leaving, though.

Either way, if this happens UC’s screwed this weekend.

This is why we can’t have nice things. Lol

What is in it for either. It would not be the type of recruiting that Urban Meyer would be used to and ND does not seem like the type of college to go after him.

He'd be a good hire for UC. I've been browsing the Virginia Tech forum during their coaching search and several seem to think Freeman is a candidate for their opening, if true they would need to move quickly. That being said I'm sure Freeman wouldn't agree to anything until he was definitively ruled out of the ND job.

There are two jobs that Fickell was always going to potentially leave for. And one of them just opened up.

BUT, and this is a big but, Ryan Day could be in the NFL in the next couple of years. We all know that’s Fickell’s dream job. Why not just wait it out?

If Fickell was to be successful at ND, he could still be plucked be Ohio State.
You can't tell me this isn't some conspiracy to keep a G5 school out of the CFP.

Riley leaves Oklahoma for USC in the hopes that throwing Luke Fickell's name into play for the Oklahoma job, would distract Cincinnati from the task at hand of trouncing Houston in the American Championship game to ensure the G5's spot in the CFP.

When Fickell doesn't bite, after not biting on LSU, Florida etc., they actually convince a coach from one of the only 2 schools (ND or tOSU) Fickell would actually leave Cincy for to leave his job and take the LSU job, freeing up one of the jobs Fickell might leave Cincinnati for, thus distracting Cincinnati enough so they falter so they miss the playoff.

If/when Cincinnati takes care of Houston on Saturday, securing the G5's spot in the playoff, the conspirators only hope is that Fickell accepts the Notre Dame job in the wee hours of the night, allowing the CFP committee to use Cincinnati's coaching situation to keep them out of the CFP.

If ND hires Fickell, we will hire Marcus Freeman. We've been through this before boys, we'll be alright. Onwards and upwards.

Remember Frost. If ND offers, I believe he is leaving.

Maybe, but he better at least lie and say something publicly because UC is about to lay at huge egg on Saturday. I hope Houston fans enjoy the fiesta bowl

I'm mostly joking but you can't deny stuff like this can affect a team/locker room

He has his normal Tuesday presser tomorrow. Should be interesting.

Unless there is a formal announcement by LSU he’s not saying a thing.

I took it too seriously. I do agree that it can effect (hope I have the right word) but I have heard that there are a lot of Seniors on the team and there is always the portal after the season, not like in the past. 04-cheers
