I looked a few times but couldn't find it, I'm sure I missed it. Anyway, Gators the favorites?
FSU would be my choice.
Should come with Gilyard to ECU

But on a serious note, I thought all the smoke yesterday was that he was going to Ole Miss or Tennessee

It will be one of these two schools.

Didn't work out too well for his predecessor.

You're looking on the wrong board. You need to go to the new BIG12 board.
Ole Miss? He had a good relationship with Jeff Lebby. If Matt Carrol declares for NFL Draft, Gabriel makes sense. They are in the Arch Manning sweepstakes in 2023 so a nice transfer portal fill in will work for them in 2022.

Tennessee? It doesn't look like that QB position is secure. He didn't have a great relationship with Heupel, so this would be a shock to UCF fans. Gabriel statement suggests he's looking for a program that runs a system that fits his talents. The Heupel system does fit him. Gabriel is a businessman now, so this might just be a business decision to go to Tenessee.

Nebraska? Scott Frost is desperate. He's been loyal to Adrian Martinez but Dillon Gabriel might just be the perfect candidate. I think Gabriel is better than Martinez but it would be a battle that pushes both QBs for sure. Gabriel wants to sell his NIL merch and Nebraska is a large fan base. He might be able to sell his merch without even winning the starting job because Nebraska fans are so fed up with Martinez.

Texas? Gabriel is prioritizing his NIL merch if you believe UCF Rivals reporting. Texas is the biggest cash cow in the sport. Texas hasn't had a lot of on field success but you have to think Gabriel would be a good Big12 QB.
Guess we're going to the transfer portal for an immediate QB need.
Never heard of her.

Keene is doing great for a true freshman QB. He was a better QB this year than McKenzie Milton was his freshman year.

2021 Keene: 1,586 YRDs, 63.6% CMP, 16 TDs, 6 INTs
2016 Milton: 1,983 YRDs, 57.7% CMP, 10 TDs, 7 INTs

Keene is developing as a QB. Some extra bowl practice will help too.

We also have a 4 star QB recruit committed in this class. He is a Gus guy and should be good.

If Auburn QB Bo Nix wants to transfer to UCF that's great too but we don't have an immediate QB need.
Sorry to get off topic but UCF Fans, what’s your thoughts on Eriq Gilyard? He took an official visit to ECU earlier this year and it apparently went well. I think he’d fit better in ECU’s system but I’m curious what your thoughts are on him.

FSU should be in a better place next year with their highly rated recruiting class and how much better they played toward the end of the season.

Great locker room guy. Works hard and has a good attitude. He was a full time starter in 20 who became a rotational player. He wants more playing time and a fresh start. Fine young man. Good player.

Agreed, he was an effective starter that got pushed back this year into rotational minutes and is looking for a home where he can play full time. Even while not getting full play time he continued to support his teammates - good kid, wish him nothing but luck at ECU or wherever his next stop is.

Good young man and he’s so well for you, basically all of the stuff that was already mentioned.
Definitely, Temple... 04-cheers

No that's from the fire on Pilot Mountain, we could barely breath in Winston-Salem yesterday.

He did a pretty good job against the run but like most of our other LBs, would struggle in coverage.

Maybe in a 3-4 he wouldn't have to cover as much and could focus on the run and/or zone over the middle.
