… two short years ago, because it certainly does not look like it.
Ryan has managed to turn us into a mediocre football program in just his 2nd year. Impressive.
I sure the new business school president will find a great replacement.

Hopefully, they’ll put together a search committee, as they did with Norvell & Fuente, and not make an emotional, feel good hire… those typically don’t work out so good.

You have to give him one more year. It's just not a good look to let a coach go after two years, unless he's a Larry Porter type. He's been hit with some bad mojo this year. Defections and injuries have taken a toll on us.

Now, if he under-performs next year then send him packing along with his DC, OC and ST coaches. If he doesn't address those issues in the off season then I think we can expect more of the same from him next season.

Our last businessman president did, the pr wizard psych phd president bullshite artist didn't.
I think we lose to Tulane next Saturday, but I have zero confidence in this administration's ability or willingness to do anything.

Bottom is falling out next year, and then we're starting over.
We have 1 big playmaker on offense and he’s gone next season. This staff better learn how to recruit real fast.

The recruiting rankings must lie. Either that or Norvell and Fuente were much better at finding the diamond in the rough. Probably both.
Losing football games and joining the new CUSA. Just like old times.

No that program dissolved when the admin got lazy & didn't hire the search committee for the Norvell replacement. So no it's not the same program by a long shot.

I think the term is called “Pastner-ing” the program. Does GT need a football coach that we can send them?
It sure didn't take Silverfox long to screw things up.....

The problem is that we can't afford another year of amateur hour coaching. If someone sucks at their job, you fire them. I don't care what it "looks" like. I care about not seeing our program go down the toilet because there is some unwritten rule that you have to keep a coach 3+ years when he is obviously over his head.
Nope

I’m beginning to think the bad mojo & defections are not a coincidence. He lost his playmakers last year & neither said a good thing about him. He lost his top corner (Carter), top O lineman (Eze), team favorite D-lineman (Dorceus) & emerging WR (Washington) to transfer this year and not one uttered a complimentary word towards Silverfield on their way out. Now, we stand to lose our top RB (Thomas) again to transfer. Perhaps these were all bad seeds that needed to move on, but we’re not a program with the luxury of having so many top contributors leave. So yes, I question if Ryan Silverfield is head coach material. He had never been as much as a coordinator prior and seems to have a difficult time appeasing his top contributors. In my opinion, he’s best coaching oline somewhere else.

This is the main problem. Our running game is no longer a threat. We don’t have a Patrick Taylor or a Dorceus. Calvin Austin is the only playmaker on the team right now.

& Sean Dykes… no one else is talented enough to step up.

Not to mention lack of a solid kicking game. No Jake Elliott or Riley Patterson. All these things add up.
Yeah, it was sickening watching the defense a lot of the time last night, but it's the same thing we've been seeing for years, maybe actually slightly better. The difference is we're not scoring as much. True FR QB? Nah, that can't be it, can it?

Personally, I blame Brady White. If that quitter had opted for another season, we wouldn't be 5-6. /s

Well the roster isn't the same as 2 years ago...
