It’s a classic tactic… They get you to talk to them on the phone, and try to get a donation. It may even be an outside company hired by the University to do it.
I’m a lifetime alumni association member, and my address is updated on their website… so I just ignore the email.

Now this is a more rational response. I’m a Lifetime member also.
I got the e-mail, confirmed the info and never heard from them again in this cycle. They do it every couple of years because people move, people die, people get new jobs, people accomplish things. Alumni participation is a measurement used in rating colleges and Universities as is number of donors. I give something to the university every year for academics as well as athletics. Alone I’m not making a huge difference.
For those that don’t want to be contacted any more send the request to the Alumni off ice and they will remove you from the contact list.

no, no the goofs frickin will not. they send this cheap arse urgent crap. Vice President of pests.
Shortly after moving, I reached out the alumni office over the summer with interest in establishing a new alumni chapter in the largest U.S. metropolitan area without a club.
I was told via email that due to staff turnover they were not starting new alumni chapters or having events until director level staff was hired. That was over 3 months ago.
I may be mistaken, but I don't think there was a road game alumni party this season for football. Basketball games in NYC and Nashville should definitely have events, but nothing scheduled yet?

What's going on over there?
I don't know, but the "services and benefits" page has been "under construction" for over a year.
There are a lot of people "in charge", but no one appears to know how to update a webpage.
For one I am happy to receive the emails. It provides me with a chance to interrupt my retired loneliness and forlorn existence living alone in the Outback wilderness with my 14 beagles. I take the time to interact with them and enjoy the brief chats. (The callers - not the beagles) While I don't really have any money - I did offer to send them one of my beagles. I haven't heard from them since then but am trying to collect enough money through my Go Fund Me page to buy a shipping crate for the beagle.
