It is what it is. We are all in this together. Let’s get new conference leadership and build something special. SBC came back from a skeleton conference and built something special. We can too.

We can do it better. A truly solid basketball and football conference AS LONG AS WE STAY SMALL..

I agree. 9 (or 10) is ideal as we bring the FCSs up and rebuild the conference.
Good luck to both of you in your effort! Might be only 2 WKU fans left in 2024..

Agree. Don't add any more unless MAYBE it's Missouri State. Concentrate as much on basketball as we do football. That will put us ahead of the SBC as they are a one trick pony.
I'm really rooting for you guys. I enjoyed our time with you guys and I wish nothing but success for this conference. You guys deserve better and I hope it will go great. I'll still be watching

A lot of Western fans will be fine with this...

I think CUSA team Presidents realize that maybe they didn't do quite enough in this round of realignment and need to do more. So hopefully they are motivated. Hopefully everyone all around learns from their mistakes.

Lol. WKU and its fanbase will be fine. We are the consummate overachiever, the little engine that could, the left behind more than once, the dreamers. Many are upset but the decision wasnt in our hands. Who knows what the future holds for us but I do know that regardless what conference we are in, we will strive to succeed and maybe, just maybe, all will be fine.

That would be sad. I trust Todd did all he could to position WKU the best way. I’m not walking away from my alma mater. The teams deserve the support, regardless of the conference. Conference alignment sucks. It really makes it hard to like college athletics sometimes. But I’m a Hilltopper.
This conference is going to add 3 Texas teams, watch it happen.

I appreciate the sentiment but I’m salty af right now. I’d be a lot happier if we fired Judy and moved the basketball tournament East.

We all would.

I’m salty too. But gotta accept the reality we are in and make the most of it. Walking away doesn’t put us in any better position for success.

100% agree- new leadership and move the tournament to Nashville. WKU and MTSU would make it a better event than it’s been in many years.

Since MAC formally announced no expansion i guess that would put WKU remaining in the CUSA, I guess.

I agree though, this is the hand we are dealt now, I hope we win this hand and will be glad to have WKU (your situation quite often reminds me of LTU) in conference. I hope everyone will stop looking for a way out at this point and concentrate all efforts in making CUSA a remarkable success story, we just have to do things different.

Exactly. Several fans are salty and will need some time to cool their heels. Me too but I dont dwell on what I cant control. Theres nothing we can do but go all in and make this a great conference. And I agree, the Presidents need to address the inadequacies of the conference headquarters leadership and the Basketball Tourney location. AND make sure that if we add any more, it only be one and it be a homerun choice.

Will we here an announcement from WKU that they are staying or have they formally said that yet?

I am not really a Basketball guy, but I do agree with you that the BB tourney needs to be in a better venue than Frisco. I always look at Texas as a FB state, not BB. I would like to see the tourney rotated, but I think the East is more BB country than the west for the most part. I would like to see the new guys have some tourneys more central to them.
First thing is addressing the conference leadership I agree.

2nd thing is if we are going to run with this we make the best possible additions we can that bring actual competition to the league. We are already spread out and travel a nightmare so geography be damned. Let’s earn the name CUSA.

Invite Missouri St, North Dakota St, and South Dakota St and stop at 12. Brings football and basketball to the conference. Solid fan bases and teams that are committed to athletics.

WKU and CUSA made it official.

Yes, WKU as well as the CUSA Office have both had public announcements today about WKU remaining in CUSA. The other threads have links to those announcements.
