Which Sun Belt team would you root for other than yours if you had to pick one? Mine would be Troy. For some odd reason I've liked Troy since the day they joined. Never heard of them before hand.

This also includes future members!

That would be Troy for me because my sister did her Masters there and i have visited Troy a couple of times and have been to a FB game once as well.

Coastal Carolina. Our beach bros- we're both in aquatic areas, and I've been to Myrtle Beach several times

Coastal because...beach volleyball.

Louisiana for the food and culture. App St for the location. I think I would have really enjoyed going to App St.

Probably USA for the sustained success in baseball (my favorite sport), and to be able to say "South in Ya Mouf." Almost said App State for beautiful campus and sustained football success, but I love baseball.

Marshall has Rugby and Hockey as club sports. Or at least they used to.

Regardless we need pics of this team if it indeed exists.

As a matter of fact, we all need to put some pics of everyone’s volleyball teams in this thread. Checking out the competition of course. Feel free to show your volleyball courts/facilities as well for total program investment.
But mainly, let’s see those athletes. They deserve recognition too. JMU, time for you to walk the walk you always claim here.

I’ll start:

As far as this thread goes, I think I’m most excited for
JMU, AState, and Louisiana.
I can’t bring myself to root for Appy. Respect, or course. But come on… I just can’t do it.
And yes I’ll call you Appy every day until I die, just to piss you off. I do it with conference brotherly love, of course.

Speaking of, Arkansas State fans, do you prefer AState, A-State,
A State, Ark State, Arkansas State, or stAte?

Which may I say is a phenomenal logo.

Also, care to delve into the Arkansas-A State history/rivalry?
I assume some bad blood is there.

Same. The only time I ever had a "second team" was right after they beat Michigan. They reminded me of of Troy's "giant killer", "anyone, anywhere, anytime" reputation.

Louisiana first and App second. We have probably more in common with the Cajuns than anyone else based on the coastal area we're in and also are both football first with baseball a close second. App because I love the area.

I would say Troy. I've always felt our schools, fan bases, and towns were very similar.

Southern Miss. Hattiesburg reminds me a little of San Marvelous.

Second, ODU. Virginia is a pretty state, a lot of History, and The Beach, nuff said.

It changes from year to year, sometimes week to week.

With a gun to my head? I would probably chose the bullet.

If it misfires I'll go for Texas State.

1. Southern Miss - So much history, love to see them get back to it.
2. Appy St - they’ve been consistently good for so long, puts the Sun Belt on the map. I may change my mind after they beat on us one too many times lol
3. ODU/JMU - Would love to see these two teams take off as powerhouses in basketball. A lot of talent that comes out of that area

Besides App, I find myself cheering for Texas State and ULM the most. Texas State is the only school in the conference with a Ph.D. program in my field. ULM is the smallest school in the Belt, and I like how you cross a bayou to get to the sports venues from the rest of campus.

If we include incoming members, my pick is either JMU or ODU. I'm not sure at this point which I prefer. Maybe the Monarchs or Dukes could help me out with that one?
