If WKU and MTSU stay, its being speculated that adding Murray State would enhance CUSA from a rivalry standpoint - and those 3 teams (combined with the basketball pedigree the new CUSA already has) would elevate CUSA to a multiple bid basketball conference, easily.

Them and Missouri State. The basketball would be outstanding. It would just need time for the football at those schools to grow, but that can be done relatively quickly if it's done right.

Seems like a burner account saying what CUSA “should” do
Do not waste a keystroke on this nonsense.
There is nothing to even say here. Their facilities are
NAIA at best. Stop the Nonsense

And as far as the MAC
There is not one G5 conference that should have any second
Thoughts about adding WKU.

Just look at our record.

And so it continues ……
I would love to keep WKU and MTSU in CUSA. Tech has enjoyed some really good games in all sports with both. Mutual hate and respect for their programs.

If WKU and MTSU stay, Missouri State would be back in the balance. Would be cool if they could make up their minds.
NO thanks to the Murray Mules. You wanna talk about a school in the middle of nowhere. Their basketball arena is good, but there football stadium is atrocious and I don’t know if there baseball stadium has lights. AND it’s Murray. No way
Bring in Murray to CUSA for olympic sports only. That would be a great move. Much respect for the Racers basketball program. If CUSA added them and kept WKU and MT it really does become a nice hoops league with a decent east/west split. Except for FIU.

LOL! Murray State and the 'greatest tradition in the OVC' needs to stay in the OVC or go D-2. The arena is nice, nicer than most CUSA/SBC schools...but the rest of their facilities are stuck in the 1970's. Outside of men's basketball, what do they offer? Rifle? Rodeo? Cow-tipping?

Come on...

But does anyone really care about any sports outside of basketball. I mean, maybe slightly baseball and soccer. But the good of the Racers hoops team would far outweigh crappiness in the mostly unknown sports.
Inviting Murray St would be a huge surprise. It is an FCS school with zero FBS ambitions. It has an excellent men's basketball team, but with Belmont leaving the OVC, it should go to the tournament every year in basketball. A candidate that would jump at an invite would be Eastern Ky, but I don't expect them to get an invite from CUSA if WKU stays.
Murray State does have a good bball program, but their football program and stadium is another story.

I wouldnt go that far, maybe a few (3 to 4 CUSA and 2 to 3 SBC). But we have a difference of opinion on what is or isnt nice. I dont even consider it nice, OK, would be a better word.

If Middle and Western stays in CUSA I cant see either voting to add Murray St or EKU.

That's fine as long as we get Missouri St., and that's a real possibility if you stay.

Outside of football and basketball, nothing else matters. So if you take them as a non-football member, you’re no worse off.

Agreed that Murray State is unacceptable for football.
Missouri State would be an excellent add considering what is available. The BIG question is-- will they take the invite? Have already said "NO" once or twice. Even IF WKU/MT came back they might still turn it down.

Good points!

I can see EKU (and probably about 10 more schools) before Murray...Murray's facility is fine...just feels like you're a mile from the floor...even when you're sitting on the first row.

If WKU stays, I'd like to see MO State...

I truly believe they're waiting on what MTSU and WKU does before they make their decision. If WKU/MTSU stays then I see them joining CUSA. They might join if only one of WKU/MTSU stays, but I'm hoping both stay. Also, I'm not being selfish by wanting WKU/MTSU to stay in CUSA. I truly believe it's in the best interest of your athletic programs to stay in CUSA and collect the exit and entrance fees. Realignment is not done by a long shot, plus this new version of CUSA has serious potential. If you go to the MAC you're going to be stuck there for eternity. Also, the media deal for CUSA is coming up for renegotiation soon. You go to the MAC and you're stuck in the Tuesday/Wednesday November football.

I'm starting to feel that same way. The basketball in this 'new' CUSA should make it a premier m**-major league...football will be fine.

I'd love to see Missouri State come onboard and a school like Abilene Christian, FGCU, and/or Kennesaw State. I'm all down for a church of Christ (ACU) vs. baptist (Liberty) holy war.
