Given that FIU is an outlier for C-USA. And with no travel partners travel would be burdensome for their olympic sports. Would they consider a football only membership in C-USA and put their olympic sports in the MEAC?

If they did that the Atlantic Sun would be a far better choice considering the MEAC prefers HCBUs as members which FIU is not. Regardless, we support FIU no matter what they decide.

I don't know that the travel really bothers them. I think they are likely to fly most anywhere north of Orlando anyway.

CUSA would need to add a member to "replace" them - wouldn't they? I thought we looked over this on the main board the other day. FBS leagues require eight all-sport members and if FIU becomes a football affiliate, it would mean that CUSA would still need to add.

Would prefer at least for the time being that FIU remains an all sports member and we see where it goes from here as other schools, things work themselves out.

I think eventually, it would be best for them. I would try to work with FIU as much as possible to get their Olympic sports in another conference. It's mutually beneficial for both parties in the long run. In the short term though, 8 full members is needed.
