I was watching the NBC National news last night and i wanted to throw my phone at the TV.
The story was on the Voting laws in Texas. They spelled out what the rules are:
- added 2 days to early voting (16 days now) that would include 2 weekends
- extended voting by an hour each day (until 8 at night)
- they have restricted drop boxes (but have added areas to go vote)
- you must verify your identity mail in or in person
So above was the first part of the story:
Then they interview a Dem Mayor (I forget what city).... Basically he states that these "rules" are racist and make it harder for people of color to vote. Does the reporter ask exactly how these rules do that- No she does not. Just shakes her head and says uh-huh... It's racist - period - end of reason.
Then NBC plays a quick fluff piece on a single mom who said she can't vote now.... No reason, just she can't now.
Unless she is working 8a-8p 7 days a week she can vote.
