In addition to ODU, Marshall voted unanimously yesterday on a new president and to move athletics to the Sunbelt. Something formal should be announced tomorrow or Friday.

Try not to let it get you down. It's more of a sigh of relief than it is a rubbing it in for a lot of these fans whose schools are headed to other conferences. ESPN chose to destroy Conference USA after failing to get the Big XII or Mountain West, and nobody wanted to be THAT school ESPN would seek to ruin.
Conference USA will somehow come out of this, I believe. We just hope for a better day.
Don’t tell ODU fans their teams still have to make a trip to Texas. Their volleyball, baseball and basketball teams will still have to go to San Marcos and Arlington.

When I read this
Wavy.com article, the words spoken by the president were so hollow and meaningless because everyone knew ODU was actively looking to leave at the same time that Hemphill made the comments about working to ensure the long-term viability and attractiveness of Conference USA.
