Maybe a team in the panhandle or Tampa Bay at the furthest. If we brought in FIU they'd be like the Texas State of the East, way out by themselves.
Why?

The SBC is truly complete with the teams we have at 14. Perfect East/West Divisions.

Yep. 14 really good teams is plenty. I certainly wouldn’t take the dregs of cusa, the dregs of conferences.

defeats the purpose
Get in your car and DRIVE to FIU, make sure you do it on a home game weekend. When you eventually get there, Attend the game yourself. Then, get on the googles and research the trajectory or every conference they’ve been in: 1) when they’re in it; 2) the trajectory of the conference after they leave it; and 3) look up their athletic history. See if you can find any sustainable success (in any sport).

Come back and report to us your findings on the gameday settting and atmosphere, their program, fanbase and their conference membership history.
Why is this still a thing? The only team would be Jacksonville University just because of their proximity to GASO. But we don’t need a Florida team. Our 14 team conference as constructed is perfect.

So what you're saying is that FIU was a person it would be named Ted McGinley?

Well, JU dropped football. So scratch them.
Please stop the add this team or that team. We are done, we can’t just take in every stray that wonders up on the front porch. Go to the CUSA board, they are the ones needing to add teams.
We can just schedule OOC games with Florida schools.
Unless the planned 14 don't work out then I don't see any reason to be looking at Florida. The only school worth looking at for the SBC would be USF, in my opinion. But I know they still see themselves as too good for that... So in my opinion there are zero viable candidates in Florida for SBC to consider.
