Don’t be naïve. Aresco is former TV Exec with ESPN. His first call was to back to ESPN asking what they wanted him to do. He’s just as complicit and guilty as anyone.

It is irrelevant. If you cared about the conference surviving, your leadership could have said "NO". Instead they did what they felt was best for the school. As they should. So did Charlotte when invited by AAC.
And, yes, I do believe ODU inquired AAC about joining.

Such a stupid thing to say like a kid who doesn't understand real world. It's not Aresco that did this, its a simple human characteristic called greed. If a school that is making 150 MM wants more then you can't really blame a school that is making 500k to aim for higher. Its all numbers game and why Charlotte? Because its the closest to us?

Why? Because everyone knew if they didn’t someone else would.
This is also the reason ODU took the SBC invite, they knew if they didn’t WKU would and they’d be left with four others.

Yeah Apparently it didn't come that far or at least that is what i heard via the grape vine. The offer came with strings attached that we need to invest in few things and our admin said we will wait and see how this pans out before making investments and that indeed seems to have ended the talks. They might be afraid we will end up in the situation similar to CUSA where we showed up and ECU left and we might not want to be moving from one sprawling conference to another. I understand our situation and i get why everybody did the things they did for themselves. I don't blame anyone for accepting offers. Its so stupid to blame someone for doing things that best fits them.

I really hope those who are left can find soft landing spots, if not I hope CUSA can do what the SB done since the last realignment and grow stronger for it. The thing is I don't have any faith in the CUSA leadership to do the right thing.

Yeah. The difference between first and second round of deflections is that you guys vacated a structurally sound building while what we did was running away from building on a fire. Its all good though our AD always wanted to be in a more regional setup and SB east is as close as it gets if what we are hearing goes through.
