When ECU and Memphis refused to play ooc games, it blew my mind and we lost great rivalries. I hope our AD’s can work together so we can continue to have games with LaTech and UAB.
I'm sure we can work out something for baseball, I'd say basketball but y'all need a lot of work in that area
Respectfully I’ll decline the offer on playing USM in hoops. Up to playing you all and La Tech in everything else.

I hope so too! The rivalries between us need to stay going. Best of luck to Southern Miss. and UAB in their new conferences! 04-cheers
I hope we have FB series with USM and LT in the future.
I honestly thought the triangle of hate between Tech-USM-UAB was one of the best things for CUSA 3.0. It really felt equal and competitive with lots of ferocity. It decided the west division in football in 6 of the past 7 years.

You mean you’re worried about ooc sos and not just finding a game within 400 miles? It’s a win-win. I hope your AD doesn’t think like that. We’re no “Tarleton State,” but we would be a close game in all sports. 01-wingedeagle
Here and there, fine. But permanent? No thank you. Its time to move on.

And as a matter of pragmatism, it's in everyone's best interest too. I also think non-conference rivalries can grow stale if played annually. Better to schedule home/home with three years between the series.

But, if it'll help keep the spirit alive, I hate you Worms and Mustard Buzzards! Y'all suck!

Fine with me! Bring it!!! 01-lauramac205-mafia03-lmfao04-rock
As a UAB fan we discussed this while tailgating yesterday. We agreed that UAB should sign a 10 year home and home contract. USM is UAB longest and most played rival. It’s also game for recruiting. The most attended game is against USM. It’s referred to as the Rubin game. UAB lost
I’m 100% on board with playing both in football. La Tech home and home for basketball is perfect. I’m not ready to say we should do that for USM basketball just yet.
Don't be scared of USM Basketball. We are headed for the Top 200 this year.
For the record, we've won 2 of the last 5 against UAB. Hey, it's something.
I could see USM and La Tech baseball playing a weekend OOC series against each year as long as Berry and Burroughs are the head coaches. They were both assistants at USM together and they still get together after games when playing each other. It would benefit both teams' RPI as well rather than playing some obscure team from the north for a money/guarantee series. USM has played ULL on occassion in the past as both a weekend series and a 2 game midweek series so just replace and continue the series.

There is absolutely no reason for Tech and USM not to play annually in baseball. Both programs benefit from the series. Might be nice, if scheduling allows, to play a home/home weekend series of sorts each year. Probably couldn't be 3-game series, that would be 6 games (weather permitting). But a pair of 2-game series works.

At the VERY LEAST, we should play a single game home/home weeknight series annually.

In hoops, yes, exchanging home/home games with UAB makes sense. I mean, one game per year, taking turns hosting. It's an easy trek along I-20.
Yes play. Need more busable games. All sports. Too convenient not to. We have good series going with both schools.
I hope we play USM OOC a lot in all sports except basketball. USM really needs to invest in basketball.
Our AD mentioned this evening that he'll be very interested in scheduling Tech, USM, MTSU, and WKU
I am sure WKU would like to continue playing UAB in ALL sports. H-H, of course.
