I've always wondered, why aren't all the MAC fan bases on this sports message board? There are several schools with their own entity posting all by themselves. Why?

If everyone made CSNbbs their home sports forum, it would create considerably more conversation. Would be good for all involved, much like it is for the current fan bases here.
Because if you're on your own site (like ubfan) then UB fan's own the control of the site and make the rules.

Or squat on someone else's server, so they get the traffic and benefit, and you have to live by their rules.
Our only active board is attached to a dead blog, but everyone there seems content with the status quo. We're the only west school without an active board here.
I'd love it if all the MAC fans consolidated here, but old habits die hard. People are content using the message boards that they've been using for years.

OTP died when Allen went to run Hustle Belt, right?

Yeah. The only reason it's still even online is for the message board, but the last real blog post is from 2016.
I agree it would be much nicer if everyone had their board here. Interesting that 4 of the 6 west schools have significant posts on here (CMU has a few posters), but Kent State is the only east school with anyone posting here.

Most. Not all. I’d rather be over here where everyone and everything else is at but it’s a first world problem. If it wasn’t for Calhoun, we’d have hardly any posts at all! How many active posters are there? 10?

Maybe a generous 15 or so.

What are some of the rules that are of concern to you? It has always seemed like things are pretty much fair game here.

That board doesn't seem that active though. The football board on that site is pretty dead even though its football season. Conference realignment is occurring because of football and all the UB fans put their conference realignment thread on the basketball board lol.

Very interesting how disgruntled UB fans are though with many saying they are better than the MAC, we should go to AAC or Big 10, etc.

Has anyone suggested on the board to have everyone move over here? With so few posters it would be an easier move than trying to get hundreds of people to try to move over.

Separating boards for individual sports is a terrible idea.

Agreed, WMU has their board separate for football and basketball too. It's easier to just have all your sports in one main board so everyone can read and respond rather than having to back out of the football board to then switch over to the basketball board, recruiting board, etc.

It's not about what's in there, it's about not having ownership of the site.
I've tried to get more CMU fans here, but many of them seem to fear change.
This board lacks some useful features like being able to 'Like' posts and (apparently) create subforums at the school level to organize posting for different sports, recruiting, school news, etc. - see Zipsnation.org for example. It's good to know there's always a backup site here in case the other board(s) were to dissolve.

As an NIU fan, I'd think you'd identify with that 03-wink

I'm pretty sure all you would have to do is ask. If you shot a message over to georgia_tech_swagger he would probably set up extra forums under Akron. Right now Kent has a random smack talk forum that we don't use. So it's possible to have sub forums.

We're expecting our Big 12 invite any day now. 03-wink
