Your #21 ranked Men's Soccer team heads to Georgia for a couple of Conference games against Georgia Southern tonight and Georgia State Saturday.

These are by no means easy games especially against Georgia State. Let's hope they come back with a couple of victories and keep their rise in the rankings.
This trip can make the NCAA a real possibility. Hopefully, they play up to their potential. They have a target on their backs not that they are ranked. They also get to have more fun by playing Akron and Portland State at the end of the season. 2 more tough opponents. But, for now, its "kick it" in GA. Ain't no devil gonna stop us now.
Charlie Daniels played at NIU in 1982/83 school year. Had second row center tickets. Nothing like having a sweaty CD dripping on you while playing the fiddle

Did the sweat taste like Jack Daniels?

NIU used to have great concerts and attracted big names before I got there. During the time I was there the biggest name that performed there was 10,000 Maniacs. Ugh!

But then again, Mr. Meyers and Johnny Bounce and the Bad Checks were better local bands than you would see at most colleges outside of Athens Ga.

Big Twist and the Mellow Fellows was popular. The DeKalb Foot Stompers played at Andy's tap
We had some great concerts at NIU when I was there. Of course, that was too long ago for most of you. But, we had some very big names for that time - Three Dog Night, Jackson Browne, Phoebe Snow, etc. Those were good times.

I saw UB40 in the field house, good livin'.
Really happy to see NIU soccer doing well and hope they play well in GA. I might be in Portland the same time they play there and would be happy to cheer them on and have the momentum keeping going to the tournament !
Statesboro is only two hours away from me, and when I saw NIU was playing there I had planned to go. Unfortunately I realized that was the day we were returning from the north Georgia mtns. And as far as Georgia State, I am too old to drive around Atlanta. I am hoping for at least a win and a tie.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UB40 was hanging out at Molly’s that night having beers. I was living in that big apartment complex across the street behind Burger King at the time. Molly’s was great. Waitresses were always 04-bow
ONE HOUR until kickoff!

GO NIU HUSKIES!
Beautiful header! NIU up 1-0.

Anthony Markanich with the pretty pass to Nick Markanich who heads it in past goal.
