I kinda wish I was going. I could see my family in the area. But I have Astros tickets for tonight and won't want to drive over in the morning to see UTSA run up 42 points on us.

The game is at 5pm. Unless you're a tailgater (I'm not), you could leave Houston in the early afternoon and make it in plenty of time.

If Coastal is ranked 15, UTSA should be ranked 14 or higher. They are a better team and have more impressive wins.

Goes to show the flaw in preseason rankings. At the very least, UTSA should be in the top 25 after this week.

I think they crack the top 25 this week, several top 25 teams went down today.

The one that is perplexing to me is SDSU being ranked before UTSA. Like Coastal, their SOS is worse than UTSA. This team deserves that rank but again, as a 10 year old program, a lot of people don't know who we are.

Don't want to pick on Coastal Carolina just because they are SBC and I respect the fact they have been successful only being FBS for few years but they are nowhere near the 15th best team in the nation. I know the rankings don't reflect the quality of the teams in sequential order and are skewed by many factors.
Coastal has played only one Power5 team the last 3 years and it is Kansas 3 times and the only reason they are a Power5 team is being in the Big 12. When your best win is either Buffalo or ULM that says a lot right there. A lot or their success hinges on their win over BYU, in 2020, with BYU ranked 13th and The Chanticleers being unbeaten at the time. Nice to see G5 teams ranked regardless of merit I will admit.

In defense of Coastal Carolina, yeah, their schedule has been easier than ours, but they've been blowing out their competition. The only close win they've had was 28-25 @ Buffalo. Their next closest game after that was a 49-22 win at home over Kansas, and everything else has been 30+. I understand about how big a factor preseason rankings make, but I also think it's about more than them still being undefeated and whom they've played; it's also the manner in which they've won those games. I'm probably in the minority but I have no issue with them being ranked above us, nor with San Diego State.
