A win for Michigan is a Win for NIU. The just won a close one against Nebraska. Also a Win for Georgia Tech & Wyoming is a win for us.
We’re really not playing for anything except a conference title… So how Michigan and Wyoming does is irrelevant…

Strength of schedule is always at play. If not this year than next year.
How does strength of schedule this year affect next year????

My best guess is pre season rankings, perhaps post season as well.

Go 11-2 with a decent schedule, get ranked.

I agree though, I don’t see that being the goal this year. Pile up a few more MAC wins go to the MACC or in the very least bowling.

I don’t know, I’m a big picture guy. When you beat a bunch of teams that suck, nobody gives a crap or gives you any respect on your ranking. When you beat a bunch of teams that end up bowl eligible it looks good to those analyzing NIU but know nothing. If we ever want to graduate from the MAC, this stuff matters. If we ever want a shot again in a major bowl game , it matters. Maybe not this year but 2,3 years from now. Style points matter.
Only thing that matters right now is the MAC. Our future rests with the MAC and what the SEC thinks they should do with the G5’s…
While I agree that all we are playing for is a MAC championship, strength of schedule matters for getting a good bowl (read: payout) and recruiting.
Strength of schedule always matters and is cumulative for sure in the court of public opinion. I always root hard for whoever NIU beats. Maybe we are playing for an outside chance of Top 25 finish if (a big if) we run the table. Who we beat will plsy into this potential opportunity.

Correct. We are doing fine. All according to plan. Sadly we didn't beat Wyoming or we would be in great shape. (We are still fine in the MAC.) But the point is, we got completely blown out by Michigan and the world saw it. If Michigan is great, it doesn't look so bad. If they are mediocre, then it hurts us. A lot.
Michigan is still undefeated and plays Michigan State next……

No complaints with our season so far, but the Wyoming game still gets to me badly. Can’t shake it for some reason. That’s all.

Go Huskie!
This is a great turn around story for NIU Football. Last year, I may be wrong, but no breaks really went our way. THis year, they are going our way. The CMU bad snap is a great example of tides have turned for this season.
Still a great comeback yet again. We truly have a shot o winning the division and playing for the conf. championship. Looks like this team has earned a bowl as well. Keep up the good work. Go Huskies.
