Can't wait until "week 7" to get this discussion started.

No official line on the game yet, but would expect is to be low single digits in favor of the Mountaineers.

Thus far in the season App's defense continues to be a strength in more of a bend but don't break style, but has struggled to create turnovers more so than any year since we joined the FBS.

On offense the balance App has shown should provides problems for the Cajuns. I do recall preseason discussion of them having the best defense ever in the SBC, I hope we don't see that next Tuesday.

I just want both teams to have fun.
What is Louisiana's injury situation looking like?
I'll be there! First Cajun game.

Considering I live in Lafayette now, I'll have to wear red.

But if Louisiana gets into the American, all bets are off. I'll have to donate the shirt. 04-cheers

Biggest issue is the offensive line, which is paper thin after losing four players in the two deep to injury (one starter, LT Carlos Rubio.)

K Kenneth Almanderes is out for the year after tearing a thigh muscle which will require surgery. Replacement Nate Snyder missed two FG and an extra point on Saturday vs. USA.

Other than that, we should be good.

A North Carolinian wearing red...? I see good in you. You can change.

I don't think many, if any, Sun Belt programs are looking at "getting in" to the American.

Sinking ship. ECU should jump ship now and join their cultural fit in the Sun Belt. I know that irks ECU people and they always point to ULM and Texas State as examples but you have a lot more in common with Texas State than with Temple, Tulane, Tulsa, SMU, and Navy. Football and baseball reign, lower costs, your basketball can be ignored, etc.

That said,
Did their long snapper graduate ?

I think we have a new one. But in any event, it's not going to be freezing.
I want to win the next two games so bad it hurts....

Last year was such a hard season to watch.

Bless your heart for trying.
Louisiana's has been in way too many close games this season where I thought they would have done much better.

Blood is in the water - I think App State is feeling good about their chances, and Louisiana may be a bit nervous. I expect a hell of game though.
Man, this years game is going to look completely different than last years. Up until App's last drive before halftime they had only thrown the ball FOUR TIMES. FOUR. I know it was cold and wet but you HAVE to throw the ball to open the run up. Louisiana plays two high safeties almost all the time so it makes sense to run to open the pass but App was running the ball at like a 3 yard per carry clip, almost always between the tackles.

I think Peterson was content playing that MAC/Big Ten type of ball where you brawl in the trenches and play defense. Ponce takes more of an ACC approach where you are far more balanced and like to stretch the field vertically. In the case of this game, I believe that the intermediate throws are going to be there and that's going to be key to opening up the running game to the edged and between the tackles.

With the guys App has back at receiver this year and with Ponce, this is going to look a lot more like App's late 2019 offense than what was run last year. I'm ready for it. If Lafayette wasn't so darn hard to get to I'd probably try to go to this game.

I feel like APP's gonna run away with this one.

American now has two direct flights per day from CLT. Also several with Delta through ATL.

Whaaaaaa!!! CovCar fan busting up in a thread that is not about them. Mods! Mods! Come save us!!
If we play the way we have played so far, it will not be pretty for us. If we play to what I think our potential is, it will be a great, one score game, either way.

I would be shocked if Napier and Co didn’t bring their best game of the season Tuesday. Other than maybe Texas there wasn’t a game circled more on their schedule preseason.
