Claims B12 Power 5 status is assured based on data

It's a great compilation. I just can't look at anything that has Miami-OH ranked above Memphis on a Big 12 expansion list as anything but flawed.

He's incredibly smart. But there's such a thing as "too smart for your own good".
Temple.

After looking over a small bit of it, they look like a possibility.
Look at his proposed playoff on slide 56. The top HBCU gets an autobid to the CFP.
His suggestions to "transform" the AAC:
- Cross border link to Canadian schools
- Create a dual division structure with Big 12 or MWC with promotion and relegation

This study has one purpose -- for the consultant to look like the smartest guy in the room.
They can try to sell it as much as they want but the Big 12 is now a tweener conference. It is not a P4 conference, its not a G5 conference. Its not part of the Big Alliance either.

Its in-between.

The ACC Commissioner himself has called them a Power-5 conference. P5 commissioners decide who's P5 -- not media, twitter, or people on message boards.

Largely agree with you. But in the metrics and money, neo-Big 12 is far closer to the P4 than it is the G5.

I remember multiple posts years ago on the board suggesting the Big East invite the University of Toronto.

Like the old Big East Football Conference after Miami left, a power conference by courtesy of the other power conferences.

The old MWC could huff and puff and run spreadsheets that placed them in the top 6, fans and journalists could talk about the "Big Least", but as long as the other power conferences agreed, the Big East Football Conference was a power conference with BCS-AQ and all that.

That is an analogy with positives and negatives for the new Big 12.
The problem is the times are changing, and with Boise State and Memphis ahead of several schools. It shows that Rice and Tulane both are actually downtrending in academics, and if they fall even more? They could lose the AAU status.

Boise State's academics have really improve on academics faster than anybody else. It is why they made the list today than 5 years ago. There is a potential that they could reach R1 in a few years.

Where do you get this stuff? Check LinkedIn for the number of investment banking hires for Rice and Tulane and then compare that to Boise CC and Memphis.

Your improvement logic is flawed. That's like saying Person A is better than Person B:

Person A $10>>>$20

Person B $1,000,000>>>$1,000,001
