I know a few here pay attention to the soccer teams. The men have had a couple big time dramatic wins back to back at home over UNC and Northeastern. The women just beat Northeastern last night to extend their win streak.

Both teams playing some great ball.

Keep it going Hawks!

Men started slow but have picked it up for sure. Women have been strong from the start. If they keep winning, and could take down a highly rated Hofstra team, an at large is almost guaranteed.
I've really gotten into WSOC lately, I watched the few non-FLO games. Good start!
Game with uva ended 1 - 1 after 2ots

You're Number 45 in the RPI, and even if you beat Hofstra, an at-large isn't almost guaranteed. I'm not criticizing your team. I'm just saying what it's like to be a mid-major. Hofstra has their hardest CAA games consecutively, and came back to win 2-1 at JMU. If Hofstra wins, they can think about getting to the NCAA Tournament having won every game except for their loss at Penn State. If you win, it makes the CAA have two great teams. I wonder if you'll get any poll votes if you beat Hofstra, who moved up to Number 10 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll to be the first CAA team in the Top 10 since W&M in 1999.

Considering we've never beaten or drawn with UVA in our history (I believe it was 3-0-0 or 4-0-0 UVA entering today), that's a great result! Well done gents.

If we beat Elon and then Hofstra these next two games, our record will be 8-1-1 and Hofstra will have 2 losses, with one to UNCW. If Hofstra is top 10, and we beat them, I'm not sure how we don't get too 25 votes and maybe a spot in the top 25.

I also believe we would have a great shot at an at large, and so would Hofstra.
You could get votes if you win both games, and your RPI would improve enough that you would get an at-large bid if they were chosen by next week's RPI. I don't think a team not receiving votes will jump to the Top 25 by beating mid-major(s) unless that mid-major is even better than Hofstra, such as Gonzaga Men's Basketball. With an RPI of 45th and nobody else in the Top 78 to play, you need to win to have a chance at an at-large. Anybody who wants the CAA to get two bids and doesn't care what teams should root for you because Hofstra will be in great shape for an at-large even with a loss at a Top 50 team.

Your last sentence is my exact point. Midmajor or not Hofstra is a top 10 team. If we can win out from here, and Hofstra is one of those wins, we are both in good shape for an at large. That means the CAA would be in good shape for two bids.
Lady Hawks take down the Tribe in OT 1-0 away, setting up a big game with Hofstra at UNCW noon Sunday.
Nice win last night. Was hoping we could pull an upset with you guys looking past us to Hofstra
Men's team with big win of #15 JMU. The men's team is the one program at UNCW that has a chance at national level success, even national championships. Men's soccer is wide open every year, Marshall won last year. This is a program that the school should be supporting mu more.

They have had some really nice wins this year, but some head scratching losses as well
Not saying they are going to make a big splash this year but they are the program with the potential to make a big national splash if supported properly.

Yes, losing to VCU last night was brutal

Man, i hadn't seen that. i was more speaking to the Elon loss and to a certain level UNCC.
I don't disagree, we certainly have had more exposure on the national level here than anywhere else.
Lots of power five schools (esp SEC) do not field teams it makes it more wide open. Build these guys some facilities Most of the power five do field ladies teams so it is much more competitive and difficult for them
Hawks beat chucktown 1 nil.

A real kick in the groin loss tonight. 30 seconds away from a win that virtually assures us a top 4 finish.

CG's schools scores and then wins in double OT

Now we gotta beat #1 Hoftsra in NY next week and get some help in order to make the CAA tourney

Tied for 4th but the Tribe had the tiebreaker
Seahawk women clinched the regular season title today. Will be the 1 seed in the women's tournament starting Thursday at Elon
