Tragic, but typical of the "news" and social media. Push the agenda, not just the facts.
.
Apparently a disgruntled Kroger employee who'd been fired.

A lady cashier who fled from her register down a close aisle & directed all she could to safety said the shooter had a mask on but looked to be a Asian American.
It was so chaotic! Never seen anything like it. No, I wasn't there but my FIL was plus I was a block over.
Unreal, today you have to watch your Back about what's going on around you. This is very sad, you go to the store and that's all you wanted to do. People that do this are Messed up in the Head.
I heard from a reputable source he was one of the people who make sushi in the store, which is outsourced by Kroger; he was fired yesterday morning and returned later with a gun

Same words i'm hearing.
THIS is why I carry a sidearm everywhere I go. And isn't it funny that this didn't gain any traction at all from the MSM. Sucks for them the guy was Asian instead of some rabid right wing white supremacist. Now that's a story they'd have run with for days.

But, but, but Mayor Strickland laid the blame on the Kroger shooting, the Cummings shooting, and the Rhodes home invasion on TN lax laws - like open carry. I'm still trying to figure out that rationale. But, hey, don't let a tragic event get in the way of an agenda.

He did say on Ch 5 news the other night that parents and the neighborhoods that a majority of these minor shootings are a big part of the problem. Parents should have more control over their kids and folks need to stop allowing this to go on in their hoods.

I was shocked he said it.

Shocked?!?! Why?

He's said in the past that Memphians are pretty much on their own in regards to their personal safety.

Because he's a leftist that's why. They don't tend to blame THEIR VOTING BASE for GUN VIOLENCE.

Forever!
I think y'all would be better served to practice your running, juking and hiding skills. Keep your senses keen so that you avoid situations where you would want to use a sidearm.

I know 3 law enforcement people extremely well. I've watched them in action during two standoffs. The Adrenalin rush they get during a scene like that is off the charts--- and they are trained. just sayin

“Need to” and I’m pretty sure this fits TB4ever, for one, to a T.

I agree for the most part. I've taught my girls to ALWAYS keep an eye out in their surroundings. And as for me, I always walk away from a fight. It makes no sense to fight...someone gets hurt, someone else goes to jail.

As far as "avoiding situations", no one at Kroger (or the young man recently shot at Rhodes) saw that coming. So it's difficult to avoid every situation. Especially when cowards go after soft targets.

I can say this. I carry my hand gun not for my protection or for the protection of others, but for the protection of my family. I will flat out go to 201 Poplar before anyone hurts any of my family members. I'm not playing a tough guy roll, I just take my duties as protector very serious.

I've never ran away from anything except a wild hog I was hunting who charged me and I wouldn't have run from him if I'd had a good angle to spear him.
