If you stay at one of: Country Inn/Hampton Inn/Quality Inn on 421, you can walk across the street and ride the Appalcart for free from the Lowe’s Food parking lot. Walking from there would be a bit of a haul but I’ve done it.

If you can shell out some coin and there’s a Room Horton hotel on King street is nice and walking distance. Most everything else is 8-10 mins away as described. Should be plenty of parking at lots surrounding king street Thursday afternoon

If you could stay at the Horton hotel, that would be a really cool spot and you could walk to the stadium but I'd imagine it's fully booked. Can't hurt to check though. Parking is tough in Boone without having a season ticket holder pass. There's generally paid parking at Grace Lutheran Church. It's a hike from there but doable. There are some other paid spots around. You could try the metered parking up behind Lost Province Brewery & Restaurant. Enjoy your stay, enjoy the game, and let us know if you have any other questions. Definitely recommend stopping by Big C's tailgate in the corner of the Peacock parking lot. Also, swing by the top deck of the parking deck beside the stadium. You'll meet plenty of fans wanting to chat, feed you, and offer drinks.

Also, masks required indoors except when eating and drinking. Not required in the stadium though.
Courtyard or Holiday Inn on 105 is about a 1o-15 minute walk down down Faculty then Rivers Street. If you stay further out park at Boonies Pizza across from the Holmes Convocation Center. Since it's a weeknight game there should be lots spaces available. Plus, if you like Chicago style pizza I hear it is great. Might want to call Boonies to see if they are selling spaces and what time you can get in there. 828.355.3033. Some residents park people in their yards at the top of Stadium Drive which is on the side of the stadium you will be on. It's an easy trip down, but a substantial uphill walk back.

Here is a good guide from Boone / Watauga County Tourism

Thanks all for the advice and responses.

One more Q, our tickets are section 110 row N seats 20-22; good spot? Also right beside the visitor section no?

Good seats, should be on or about the 35 yard line. My seats are in 111 and on the 50. You will be on the end of the field with the new North Endzone Complex. Welcome to Boone!
In years past the visitors section has been to your right. Can’t remember but think they should be adjacent to you.
Just curious. Is there Uber/Lyft in Boone?

Yes, pretty reliable IMO. When you get out to banner elk and other surrounding areas it gets iffy.

I am 25 and we only got it the year I graduated.
Muuuuch cheaper rooms in Blowing Rock, $300 of savings for 5 miles of drive is a solid trade.

Looking forward to the game, 3 coming in my group; feel like we’re going to travel decent as a fan base for this one.

Hopefully this is a future conference game wherever we land in the shuffle
Other than the series with GS, no other series has produced more entertaining moments than App/Marshall.
I don't make nearly as many games as I'd like and we are more of a shop and go out to eat bunch rather than tailgaters, so others are probably better to answer this question, but when we go to games we like to stay at one of the hotels on 421 eastside of town (Hampton, Sleep, LaQuinta, Country Inn) and we just keep our car parked at the hotel and walk to downtown, campus, and the game. It's on the side of town where we (and most, I would guess) are coming from and the walk to downtown is relatively short.
Not sure how strict the mask requirements are, really depends on where you go. There's signs asking for mask, I had mine with me in case anyone asked but didn't wear it and never had anyone say anything to us. Many others where walking in and out without mask as well, but then again, it could depend on where ya go.

Staying in blowing rock is a great idea. It's a little more touristy than Boone is. I would suggest looking for an Airbnb or maybe a cottage inn or something next to a creek to get that vacation feel. Be sure to grab some candy from Mas General Store. Most will say the 1 on King Street, but I prefer the Mas General in Valley Crucis, more scenic.

Just bear in mind Boone restaurants can be very difficult to get into on Saturdays after games (I’m talking 2 hour waits). Being a Thursday night (less fans and a chunk of them going back home immediately after the game) it might be a little bit easier but I wouldn’t count on it. A staple in Boone is a sports bar/sandwich bar called Macadoos. Their menu is huge.

If you get a hotel with a restaurant in it or a kitchen in the room leave an option to cook for yourself.

Being that you’re looking at a room in blowing rock you might not have too much of a problem getting a table somewhere.

You can also park at the First Baptist Church on King Street. Not sure the tailgate policy, but it's right beside campus and close to all the downtown restaurants. You walk right thru the middle of campus to get to the stadium.

If you're looking to save some money, you might want to check hotels down in Wilkesboro. Since you all left the SoCon, 421 is four lanes all the way into Boone, it'd be about 30 minutes to Boone and probably save you $50 or more on lodging than if you stayed in Boone or Blowing Rock
