What do you say? Vote yes or no.

New Sun Belt:
UTEP
UTSA
Rice
UNT
Texas State
Louisiana
Louisiana Tech
Louisiana Monroe
Southern Miss
Troy
stAte
USA

New CUSA:
Marshall
WKU
MTSU
Charlotte
ODU
FIU
Liberty
JMU
App State
Georgia Southern
Georgia State
Coastal Carolina
That would definitely be a tighter footprint for both, but that seems to matter less and less with each shuffle.

Yeah, I thought the Sun Belt could rebrand as the Southwest conference.
Here is what a straight up trade of our East and West divisions would look like. It provides perfect 12 team conferences that are very much regionally aligned. And allow us to each continue to build out natural rivals. Heck, we could even work out partnership where our championship game losers play in a bowl, I would want our to champions to be positioned in higher opportunities, but definitely a number two versus number two could be worked out.
The American would add UAB and FAU.

If UNT leaves for either the MWC or AAC, than y'all can do what you want, but until then, I vote "No".

Also, C-USA is headquartered in Texas. And with Rice, UTEP, and Southern Miss, the western group would have a better claim to the C-USA name.

I don't care who carries the name, that doesn't matter to me.
You know what, Joe let's do that. You could take CUSA and Judy and we'll take the Sun Belt name and Gill.

Marshall fans just want stability, good football programs and a tighter geographical configuration.

We know CUSA doesn't have that, and people need to wake up to the fact that neither does the current Sun Belt.
I agree I don't think either conference has the juice to poach the other, so maybe blow it up and reshuffle. The thing is, the Belt seems pretty happy with what they've got. It's CUSA that would be in a position of need.

Some salesman has got to figure out a way to get the Belt on board, or at least enough school presidents to cause critical mass, and I don't think any of us believes Judy McCloud is that person.

I think the word you were looking for was creative...
Would be great and would make too much sense ...

So, which gets the tv contract?
Once the AAC makes its move, it’s only sensible for the remaining C-USA and SBC schools to realign geographically. Cutting travel expenses and increasing gate revenue due to more local opponents is what these programs need

I think they’d need to sign new ones.
If it's that easy, get C-USA a new one.

Yep. The Mountain West absolutely has their eyes on North Texas. Should CSU-Fort Collins and Air Force go AAC, and I can practically assure you that they will, North Texas will be invited.

And correct on the conference names. Riley's Texas-centric division would likely carry the Conference USA name since it's headquartered in Dallas, while Sun Belt Conference, which is headquartered in New Orleans, would hold on to the Sun Belt Conference name.
More programs are going to leave the Big 12 very soon. I could easily see the ACC invite Notre Dame and WVU, the Big 10 invites Iowa State and Kansas, leaving the Big 12 additionally decimated.

Then Boise State, San Diego State, Memphis and South Florida go to this mangled Big 12.

My point being, we will not see the end of realignment for another few years.

It might be in everybody's best interest to just hold the forts. But I think this reimagining adds stability in a time when we will need stability.
I don't think it's a question of if UNT goes to the MWC. It's which other Texas team goes with them?
