The IL State game was a 5:00 start time. I don’t ever remember a 5:00 game time…at least in recent years. Seems like we typically get start times of 12:00, 3:30, 2:00, 7:00 or 8:00. Here’s how I rank the kick off times in terms of personal preference:

1) 2:00
2) 3:30
3) 5:00
4) 7:00
5) 12:00
6) 8:00

Not a big deal for me being in town but I know the night games are tough for those traveling. 2:00 games are pretty rare these days it seems. Noon sucks but 8:00 is the worst.
I know obviously TV often dictates kick times but I'm generally for whatever gets the most people out to the stadium. That seems to be mid afternoon generally although I think early season night games attract the most students. On the rare occasion that we have any say in it, we should obviously go for the warmest part of the day in November.
We are out of town. 5 pm actually worked great as we could get home a decent time. I really hope the Ball State game is at noon as we are heading to see our daughter at GVSU for parents weekend later that day.
Noon games are great in the fall...odds of the best weather.

In the first half of the season however (at least through Sept) I really like games that end a little after sunset. The transition is pretty fun to witness, it's not too hot, and you don't get out too late. A 5pm start right now is quite nice actually.

I too like games that transition to sunset. So the preferred game time changes come November. I wish we would play more day games in November but that’s Maction for ya.
I prefer an evening kick to a noon kick, especially if I am going with the kids. They can sleep peacfully on the ride home, instead of having me trying to get everyone up and ready at 6 am. I'd almost rather them put the game on a weeknight than noon to be honest, and I'll watch when I get home from work instead of going through the effort to drive 3 hours to the game, no real tailgate, no time to walk the campus, etc... and doing everything post game.
We like to tailgate, so my least favorite time is Noon. 2:00PM or later is my preference. I like the night games, but they can get cold late in the season. I really liked the 5:00PM start. If I must rank them I would go:

1. 3:00PM
2. 5:00PM
3. 7:00PM
4. 2:00PM
5. Noon

7PM until beginning of October and then 12PM the rest of the season. I love tailgating in cold fall mornings for some reason.

I also would prefer that they stick with the more "standard" kick off times of 12pm, 3;30pm, or 7/8pm. I hate this 1pm, 2pm, 5pm crap. It makes the rest of the football watching activities get screwed up throughout the day.
I really liked the 5pm. Don't have to rush down to Kalamazoo & the game gets done at a decent time. Such a bizarre start time tho.

8 is my least favorite.

7, noon, or 1, pros & cons to each.
