I've heard so many different things and very little, if not any, sources to back up their claim. If Marshall, or USM, or FAU or whoever were to leave CUSA, how much exactly would the exit fee be per school? And please provide a source.

The only thing I can find is this 5 year old article from Chuck Landon that says, per CUSA Associate Commish of Public Affairs Courtney Morrison-Archer:

-schools must provide 14 month notice
-exit fee would be the amount of ANY revenue allocated after a school submits notice of withdrawal (this includes ALL revenue)
-this exit fee is calculated by adding revenue sharing/NCAA bball sharing figures, money that the conference gets from the CFB Playoff/Bowl revenue, conference cost of attendance stipend funds

Quote:So, if a C-USA school would want to leave and join the American Athletic Conference, which is a popular subject of conversation currently, it would entail two years of limbo and roughly $5.6 million in exit fees

5.6 million dollars in exit fees? Seems a little high. Are these exit fees explains anywhere online officially through CUSA's website or a PDF of a contract somewhere?
I do know that any NCAA basketball credits earned by a team reduce the amount they have to pay. IIRC correctly Memphis had to pay nothing or almost nothing because most of the earned credit came from them.
Two packs of jolly ranchers and have to turn in their MySpace passwords from the CUSA media package.
I searched and that is the only article online that I could find. Now if they BIG breakup happens, the price might be zero. I also agree, $5.6 Million sounds high for a conference that makes a tenth of what AAC makes in media deals. Their exit fees are $10 Million with proper notification.
clt is hearing that Judy will also accept a back up battery for her little jeep
It really doesn't matter, since no one in the conference can afford to pay them!

Judy's Jeep runs on C-USA schools' hopes and dreams.

Don’t make Judy choose between her two loves.
Even if the AAC television deal is cut in half, it would cover the C-USA buyout in 2 years' time.
AAC is not inviting Southern Miss. They'd cease to exist first.

This isn't about the AAC inviting Southern Miss.

This is about SHOULD the SBC invite Southern Miss, what would the exit fees be?

Clearly a Blackberry user.
Judy just asks you to not "unfriend" her or CUSA on Facebook.

FWIW, C-USA exit fees are estimated to be around $6 million. USM athletics had about $4.6 million in donor contributions in 2019. Donors would have to step up in a big way to get them into the Sun Belt

And who gave this $6m estimate? An idiot?
For what it is worth... I hope Southern Miss & Marshall are coming to join us in the AAC.

We just can't help with the exit fee because we are broke.
