He was a true patriot

Imagine what life would be like if Hollywood - and DC for that matter - hadn't been invaded by perverted evil Godless communists. You couldn't find a handful of people in that cesspool willing to do something even remotely like this today. We'd be better off rounding up 99% of the Hollywood elites and imprisoning them for life. The numbers for the DC politicians might be only slightly lower.
Agree on all points
Imagine the exploding heads, convulsions and uncontrollable diarrhea that would take place if someone in hollyweird would make something like that today.
1. Love John Wayne, and love hearing him deliver that message. Thank you for sharing it.

2. That hair looks familiar. I think Charlton Heston inherited Wayne’s toupee collection.

lol, was he really bald??

Also, I have no idea if this was a legitimate photo I saw but it was long before the internet or photoshop, anyway. I saw a photo of the Duke walking poolside somewhere carrying a man purse and wearing hotpants. I was devastated.

I've never been able to find that photo again so maybe I was tripping on acid when I saw it...

Edit: I've looked for this before and couldnt find it, it was easy this time for some reason...

During the same search I ran across a pic of him without a toupee...

Hell, he wasn't bald per se, just thinning. He looks like my old man there, another man's man. He was like my own personal John Wayne. 25 year career army MP, 6'3" 230lbs, ramrod straight. He'd come home from deployment in his dress uniform and my heart would damn near burst with pride.

None of the above is intended to demean the Duke, he remains a hero to me to this day.

They should create a hologram of Wayne and play this at the next GOP convention.
Many a leftist head would still likely explode.
I love John Wayne. Used to watch his movies with my Pap. I miss those days.

Not every guy could sport that look. He makes it cool. No one would demean him to his face, thats for sure. Loved the man!
If "God Bless America" became our national anthem Leftists heads would explode because it has God in it.

As for Unholyweird people would put down McCarthy because of his wanting to go after communists in Unholyweird. Now, we are inundated with them and many go into Mainstream News.
Watching that video again, I spotted several actors who were famously, outspoken, left-wing liberal in that era. It was a time (1970) when “everyone” (politically-speaking) felt comfortable singing a song like “God Bless America” and were willing to perform it where it would be seen by tens of millions.
I believe the duke got his love of westerns from working on the set with Wyatt Earp. Earp became a cinema consultant for westerns later in his life, where wayne was a teenager working as a propman.

Yep, Wayne famously said his signature “walk” was modeled after Earp’s.

And Biden's signature walk was modeled after Curly from the Stooges. Or should I say signature fall?
