I still remember an early season game years ago Vs Northwestern where Joe went for the 2 in that situation and lost, so this is a nice script-flip.

I was at that game. Garret Wolfe and the Northwestern RB both were unstoppable. We went for two but Sam Hurd slipped in end zone and the ball went right above him.

I don’t mean to make a lot out of one game, but NIU doesn’t seem like a program that was going to stay down for long. And Rocky was a solid add.
Fingers crossed we just needed win that to get the monkey off our backs. This is still a very young team (86 of 114 players are freshmen) but last year didn't help us having so many new players and no actual offseason to prepare them.

To paraphrase Al Franken, I like NIU more than most Toledo fans and I hate NIU. That being said, it is great for the MAC that NIU pulled off a big time win. Congrats.

MAC only has three FBS wins in 3 weeks so far and one of them was UMass. Not good at all.
