One of the Dillard dorms is being demolished this week and the second building appears fully gutted for demo.
My classmates who spent a year living in those buildings will rejoice.
This allows much needed space for parking and practice fields.
Or is there a plan to construct a softball field in anticipation of adding sports for
Title 9? I don't know where the money would come from.

One of the athletic plans kicking around, albeit from a few years ago, had that space slated for practice fields but also a full track and field facility. Not sure how that's evolved though.

"The Plan" just published by the AD via email includes prompt demolition of the old dorms and construction of a new turf field to ensure more "equitable" practice opportunities for men and women.

I was over there today. The dorms at the Dillard Complex are in the process of being torn down, and there's a new scoreboard up at Dillard Field in front of them.
