To tell you the truth, I was not to confident after reading that article about the future in the Football program.

I was left with the impression that nobody really has a answer as to what to really do or how to remedy the dilema facing the program's ability win back the community and its fan base, outide of "win baby".

With that said, winning is only part of the equasion. The first and most important aspect is getting the quality athlete(s) that will perform this task.

Somehow and som way this has to happen. 04-drinky
Basically no big deal.

Was anyone really surprised by anything that was there?

The main thing I'd like to say is that whether Tulane is playing Texas or they're playing UAB or the game is in the Dome or it's at Gormley is that fans need to be there if they want to see Tulane keep going with Div. 1-A football.

I feel like the administration is looking very closely at that. They need to see that the fans care a lot. If the message is that the fans don't care then I can't blame them for seeing that. In other words, the way things are going Tulane isn't going to make it. It's not even close. Unless people show a whole lot more interest in Tulane football than they've been doing, we can probably forget it. There's no future.
I agree, I really feel that Tulane has really backed themselves into a corner with all the bad decisions made by so many in the past beginning with the University agree with then Tulane President Rufus Harris and getting out of the SEC.

Which I might add, Tulane was a charter member of that conference. That was the day the football program, especially, began to die.

For an institution such as Tulane, known for its exceptional degree of high learning, they have surely shown a lack of any degree of common sense and intelligence in the business world over the past four decades.

That decision has been talked about a lot.

I'd like to know whether anyone thinks that had Tulane stayed in the SEC their position might be the same as Vanderbilt's, i.e. not even one winning football season in more than 20 years.

My perception is that Vanderbilt gets a nice paycheck for a lot of losing to the UGa.'s, 'Bama's, Florida's, Tennessee's and whichever else.

Tulane OTOH gets to play in C-USA and has had three winning football seasons in the past five, but are fans taking any notice??

What would you rather see? Tulane taking its lumps all the time against these SEC teams or going against C-USA and having a shot to win? I know what I'd want.
