FWIW, they picked our 30-4 squad in 2019-2020 to finish worse than this year lol

3rd in conference and 118th in the nation would be a respectable outcome. Glad to see The Bucs weren’t slated to be a mess. Let’s hope they beat the odds.

EDIT: On the other hand, they’ve got Wofford at #92 and 2nd in conference. Do our own pundits think that’s likely given the current info? https://www.collegesportsmadness.com/article/19677

CSM has only posted projections from 144 back to 84, so far. First place SoCon projection has not yet been posted by that group, so we’ll have to hold our breath and see if it’s Chattanooga or what.

Yes -

that's about where I rated us on 8/6 (4th in the SoCon, behind Furman as well, although I noted that we should have the talent to beat the 'Dins, IF we can come together as a team), and that's where I rated Wofford. The Terriers broke in a good crew of young guards last year led by All-Freshmen Klesmit and Safford. A lot depends on whether 6-7 Isaiah Bigelow is injury free and lives up to his potential.

Unfortunately, the Covid virus (158,000 new US cases on 8/18, 1,055 new deaths) continues to bear out my concerns in that area. See Ballad Health Care's statements: https://heraldcourier.com/news/local/wat...-top-story
Sports Madness ranks Furman #1 in the SoCon and #79 overall, somehow seeing an improved team despite the loss of 6-8 Noah Gurley (15.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 2.5 apg) to Alabama after turning down the Florida Gator's offer, and 6-7 Clay Mounce (13.8 ppg, 6.3 rpg) to the pros with a first tier team in The Netherlands. I think another year of a little slippage by the 'Dins is more likely. Jalen Slawson, Garret Hein and Jonny Lawrence don't seem likely to add up to an improved front court without Gurley and Mounce.

So Sports Madness has Furman #1, Wofford #2 and ETSU #3. No mention of Chattanooga.

I've got Wofford #2, Furman #3 and ETSU #4. With Chattanooga (Malachi Smith, David Jean-Baptiste, Darius Banks, K.C. Hankton, A.J. Caldwell, Josh Ayeni, et al., and now 6-9 250 Silvio de Sousa and 6-11 250 Avery Diggs)#1. Only Stefan Kenic is gone from the rotation, to play in Europe.
