Quote:President Joe Biden said during a CNN town hall on Wednesday night that he is pushing to eliminate the sales of handguns.

“I’m the only guy that ever got — passed legislation when I was a senator to make sure we eliminated assault weapons,” Biden said. “The idea you need a weapon that can have the ability to fire 20, 30, 40, 50, 120 shots from that weapon, whether it’s a, whether it’s a 9mm pistol or whether it’s a rifle, is ridiculous.”

“I’m continuing to push to eliminate the sale of those things, but I’m not likely to get that done in the near term,” Biden added.

And how many times have we heard "Nobody wants to take your guns."?

In fairness, they’ve stopped saying that lately. They believe — rightly or wrongly — that the American people have shifted on this issue.
Gun ownership suppression laws are as unconstitutional as voter suppression laws, no?

(And I mean actual suppression, not reducing early voting from 120 days to 90 days and **** like that)
Good luck with that
I will always support gun ownership because that is one of the pillars of our free country.

Now saying that, I really really dislike handguns. They generally have one purpose, shooting each other. Yes, it can be used for "defense" to shoot someone, but it still boils down to, the main purpose of a handgun is for shooting a person.

I have had shotguns since I was around 9 years old. I currently have a 12 gauge with a trigger lock that has never been removed and the gun has never once been fired. I will always have it, whether I have the need to fire it or not.

To get even more blunt, I think handguns are for cowards. I always smirk at the little cowards walking around with handguns strapped to their waists to make sure everyone knows they are armed. If I am so scared to leave the house without a gun then I dont deserve to leave the house.
You sir are an idiot

What’s the old saying “the law didn’t make men equal, Colt did”. Now that’s a catchy saying but it’s true. The Constitution is an idea. A piece of parchment. It can only keep you free if you have the means to backup the ‘idea’. Every constitution loving individual should own a handgun even if they don’t “like” them.

My dad saved my cousin's life because he was carrying a handgun.

I stopped a burglar in their tracks breaking into my apartment in college because I own a handgun.

People who carry generally don't do so out of fear of others, especially those that open carry.

Damn, if you are that afraid of a mechanical device that only functions when properly manipulated to do so then I sure wouldn't want to share a foxhole with you. You are that guy who may some day become a victim of violent crime because you lacked the means to protect yourself or your loved ones. I pray it never happens.

I carry a handgun with me everywhere I go. I have for 25 years. I don't do it because I'm afraid. I do it because I'm prudent and understand that it may well sit on my side untouched in self defense for years but that one time I am confronted with force beyond my physical ability to meet I know it's there and that I have trained enough with it that I can indeed manipulate it to do its job which is to defend and protect me and my family from harm. I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

A handgun is a tool. In the hands of evil people that tool can cause death. A hammer is a tool. In the hands of evil people that tool can cause death.

ALL that aside I absolutely love working on them and I love shooting them.

You would reconsider these words if you were stuck in the southside of Chicago at night. Detroit? C'mon man there are plenty of places that you would be extremely happy to have a fully loaded hand gun. Otherwise take the beating, hospital stay or even possibly the end of your existence. Food for thought. NEVER SAY NEVER.

Haha, I live in Memphis.. I grew up in a 95% black neighborhood, went to an 80% black school. Spent the last 20 years contracting work from the health department in the lead programs, spending every single working day in houses in the worst neighborhoods in Memphis. I have had a gun in my face on 3 seperate occasions and never needed a gun to handle the situation. But, I am not a coward who feels they have to have a gun to leave the house so I already had the upper hand.

but but the covid shot might kill me.... hah

You should have probably stopped after your 1st sentence.

Everything after that you can simply address by personally deciding not to own a handgun.
What a coward:
Quote: May 3, Madison County, Alabama: A woman who fatally shot her former fiancé acted in self-defense when the man attacked her, police said. The woman had called 911 just before midnight to report that the man—who had a long history of domestic violence convictions—had showed up at her home. By the time police arrived, the woman already had relied on her firearm to defend her life.

What part of "walking around with" did you miss? She was in her home, but nice try.

and to take it a step forward "strapped on their waist".

but it isnt unusual for posters to completely change what someone says and turn it into something else so they feel like they win or something.

So, what you're saying is that:
1. Blacks are violent.
2. You've had a gun pulled on you 3 times, so you think any subsequent times will result in the same situation where you will walk away.
3. Only cowards defend themselves.

I hope for you there is never a 4th time a gun is pulled on you, but if it is and you end up on the news, all we can say is "dumb*** shouldv'e protected himself, but he didn't because of bravado."

I probably should have just said that. I don't care how he feels about handguns for himself, that's his business and I can respect that. But to disparage another because of their choice to carry a handgun is over the top.

How many did he say? Cause I have 31 (16 loaded and 15 in a spare mag) at all times.
