Dear posters

I assume some posters here belong to the following groups. Anyway- I broke down and finally parted with my mammon and joined the UT Foundation and DCA. This is after having season tickets for many, many decades. Think of me what you will :-). I also added my girlfriend as this seems to be a financial no brainer. I am still employed at Dana but have some more flexibility these days so I decided to give both a go.

I am excited to go to a luncheon. I was wondering if someone could describe where they meet, the format, can we actually shake hands and briefly meet the coaches, do they have a Q&A session after speaking; and, I assume someone does give a speech.

I am not a joiner, never have been on almost any level including professionally so this is new and it’s something I should have done years ago given how closely I follow all UT sports. So if anyone could enlighten me I would sincerely appreciate your input and perhaps I will meet some of you fine people on Aug 30.

Welcome to DCA!
Meetings start at 11:30 with a buffet (that is optinal $); usually have water tea and coffee are comp'ed
Official start at noon.
President starts with intros, new members, guests
Have a UT media update for olympic sports
The head coach in season gives an up date/video, takes questions and then we do the 50/50 raffle and sometimes give away tickets.
I think you will enjoy the time

When you say you "joined the UT Foundation," what does that mean? You got a job within or you joined Alumni Assoc? Lifetime membership in the Alum Assoc is not very expensive particularly if you've lived many, many decades. I wonder how many alums realize that?
When DCA was at the Toledo Club, actually downtown the food was average at best. I think they took whatever was served to members on the weekend and slather it with a gelatinous goo of a gravy. We always called it mystery meat

The food is different each week and there is usually and entree, soup, salad, desert and beverages for $15. Goes for a good cause.

Hello East:

Joining the UT Foundation means you contributed at least 500$ to have access to Lot 10 for football parking and for basketball the two closest adjacent lots to Savage hall and access to Grogan room. I gave the minimum at 500$ so those are my so called perks. That's not TMI its just common knowledge if you search for this info on UTrockets.com. I now have a little extra cash and I want to walk less post some health issues (trying to get back).

I joined DCA about 17 years ago ... Have not gone to a meeting in some time, so I need to get my yearly dues squared away...
Also, glad that that they moved the weekly meetings from the Toledo Club to back on campus... Food is always catered in, usually pretty good and more importantly, the meetings are more accessible for the coaches/staff...
