We should be in every game according to this and would be favored in 4 games (including Hampton). Win those 4 and 2 more . . .?

Wake Forest 49
Buffalo 61
Liberty 63
Marshall 75
FAU 79
La Tech 96
WKU 99
Char 109
ODU 113
FIU 118
MTSU 121
UTEP 129
I think we are going to be appreciably better than is being predicted.
I'm sticking with 4 wins. We are near the bottom of the league and the bottom teams are all pretty close.
I say 6 wins

Anyone, "expert" or otherwise, who thinks they can gauge how a team with a new coach, new system and bunches of new players will fare is either lying to themselves or a fool. Maybe both.

That's one of the beauties of this coming season; we don't know what to expect. One other is the inevitability that one or more players will come from nowhere to be stars, or much, much better than anyone imagined.

Seriously considering starting a new thread "I was wrong, and I suck" for those whose "predictions" miss the mark, one way or another. Using the honor system, I'm sure many will list their names there when the time comes.

Have a blessed day.
None of us can possibly know. Some of the returners are better than they are given credit for but much of the roster has never played in a college game. We have a coach that we dont even know if he can coach. Good luck predicting
And we still won't know after the first 2 games. We could get killed by WF and then steamroll Hampton a week later. Unless of course the Hampton game goes horrible wrong for us.

You don’t serve as Penn State’s Offensive Coordinator if you can’t coach. The team Rahne is putting together is going to be much better than what’s being predicted. That’s my take.

Even if true, not every good offensive coordinator is a good head coach.
Team could be appreciatively better than the 1-11 team without a lot of wins.

We will be facing a lot of teams with many guys who’ve been in college weight rooms for up to 5 years. I just believe we’re going to fighting an uphill battle.

I’m more looking for the eye-test than record this season. We can have a crap record but see the light at the end of the tunnel hopefully.

Yeah that's where I'm at too. 2019's team was just painful to watch, nevermind the score. We're still rebuilding so I'm just hoping that we're competitive and that we're laying a good foundation. If we get wins? Why that's just icing on the cake.

Roger that!

This is what I foresee. The team should be better. But it may not translate into many more wins because the competition is better too. Could be anywhere between 2-4 wins realistically. Im hoping for four. Any more than that, and RR will have certainly exceeded my turnaround expectations. That said, I want a bowl game in 2022.
My prediction is lots of inconsistency from week to week. Starting off surprisingly good then tapering off as injuries pile up and fatigue sets in. It's going to be hard to ignore final scores but there are little things like schemes, discipline and penalties that will tell us what kind of coaching staff we have.

That said, I am 100% on board with what we are starting to see. I think RR is a winner. I am saying 4 wins. All at home.

I agree with all the unknowns, but it's hard to think with Rayne's resume that he'd became a head coach of a bad G5 conference and be really bad at it. I think he and his assistants will at least go .500 this season, but look at our schedule. Seems really daunting.
I like what Rahne is doing, but I think we'll have some growing pains this year. Gonna take a little time.

I'd say I'm cautiously optimistic.
I'd say somewhere between 1 and 4 (maybe 5) wins this season.
