Are you watching games?
I didn't see Moussas games...
Is Duren more talented...Absolutely...
But if we continue to play like we have he will not be able to realize his potential.
Defensively they are similar...
Defensively they are MOST similar - but not equal. Duren is better with his ability to guard in space. Did you see him taking on the opposing PG without fouling?
Offense is actually fairly important too. And that's a game changer.
I have no idea what you mean about Duren not being able to reach his potential. Stats wise possibly. But development? Come on.
On offense they are treating Duren like he has Cisse skills...
A lob guy...Someone you have to get it to in scoring position. Duren has the ability to get his own...He is not getting those opportunities. Give him a few catches on the low block...Let him work.
You seem to think development actually happens in games.
Even so, the tape says otherwise.
video marks 0:12, 0:51, and 1:52.
Anyone who doesn't see this kid as a phenom is blind.

I think I need to get through the Alabama and Tennessee games and see where he's at before I can say that. But he's already my favorite player on this team, and I really like a lot of the guys on this team.
And just to be clear: He's a significantly better basketball player in every phase of the game than Moussa Cisse (maybe they are comparable on defensive rebounds).

What I was really amazed by is what a pretty shot he has. He’s going to be really special.
Edit: Sorry multitasking - bates not duren. Duren looks like a man among boys

Senior Dorsey was a machine.
Dorsey's junior and senior seasons were very similar. He averaged 25 minutes a game, 62% from the field, 40% from free throw, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 turnover, 1 steal, 0 assists, 7.5 pts per game
Duren 2 games ( I know, I know) but Duren's 2 games, He averaged 25 minutes a game, 77% from the field, 71% from free throw, 8 rebounds, 4 blocks, 2 turnover, 0 steal, 1 assists, 12.5 pts per game
Dorsey was great. I loved Dorsey. There is absolutely no comparison between Duren and Dorsey.
If you are looking for players to compare Duren to, think Lorenzen Wright, William Bedford, David Vaughn...
Bates and Duren are two of, if not the two most "talented" players to play for the Tigers at the same time ... Both will end up being Top 5 NBA picks ... Bates is the 2nd coming of Penny, and takes it to a whole new level, while Duren appears to be Bedford, Lee, and Dorsey all rolled into one ... Watching them play Saturday night from under the basket, you really appreciate their skill levels and intensity .... I get a sense that the whole team feeds off of that intensity .... This could be a very special season ...

They may have that potential but I wouldn’t crown them just yet.

Keith Lee is way above that group you have him listed with.
Keith was an unstoppable scorer. None of the others were that.

Must be someone that never saw Keith Lee play. He could score from anywhere, average double-digit rebounds and was a great shot blocker. Most guys would swat at the ball to block it. Lee would block and grab the ball and start the break.

It’s amazing isn’t it?
He's dug in too deep on the topic to back out now!

First time I saw Keith Lee play is the early season exhibition and he went 10-10 from the field.
He would just catch the ball on the block and turn and shoot it.
Big hands and long arms.
To go with an unbelievably soft touch.
You don't see that combo often.
Not the greatest athlete.
But dude had so many scoring moves.

Your haiku has WAY too many syllables.
I prefer limericks...
Keith Lee as a player was cool.
His play always led us to drool.
His arms were so long,
And his 'fro so strong,
We wish he would come back to school.

Imo, Penny was much more athletic, dynamic and explosive than Bates. Don’t know who Bates reminds me of here. He can certainly play though.
Duren is more skilled offensively than Dorsey and much taller but they play with the same explosive, athletic and intimidating demeanor. Duren is about 6-10 with a 7-5 1/4 wingspan and runs and jumps like a deer. But defensively he brings the same thing to the table as Dorsey, which shows how good Dorsey was his junior and senior years.
Problem with the Penny/Bates comparison is that Penny had to sit out his freshman year, so he was 2? years older when he started his college ball, I do believe.

True but Penny was a much different player than Bates. As mentioned above.

i recall his teammate being really good also, cage

That West Memphis team when Michael Cage was a senior and Lee a junior was voted Arkansas high school's greatest team.
