Currently appears that 2021 is a down year for quarterbacks in CUSA, at least based off of this data. Looks like even the SBC may have the upper hand in talent at the most important position on the field. Only 3 even mentioned and they are near the end.

How does everyone feel about the potential for their signal caller this fall?
Confident.
I think Grant Wells is a dude, and will perform much better than the tier they have him rated in.
clt is very confident
I think this league has better quarterbacks than are given credit.
We have Perry and Johnson…confident.
I don't have the confidence of an FCS transfer, but I feel pretty good with what we have in the cupboard.
I feel pretty good, now that we have the Luke McCaffrey transfer in the mix. Just wish we had a new coach.

What happened to him at end of season? After watching him 2nd half of season not sure I would be as confident. Dude lost all confidence and was clearly shaken. Looked like Ben Simmons shooting...
More confidence in the QB than I do in the O-line and receivers. But expecting one more down year for the Monarchs before we storm back to the top half.

Looking like Ben Simmons shooting would require Ben Simmons to actually take a shot...
I think Western upgraded more than any school in FBS. Not saying the best but the degree of upgrade....

one of the worst QB to a QB that would have led FBS in passing yards vs FBS schools. Very happy with the upgrade and what is surely a upgrade at OC and WR.

Didn’t western lose more than they added?

As long as Piggy was not the QB this coming season...it would have been a improvement. But when you lose one of the worse QBs (rating of 111 and the only one worse was FAU's Nick Tronti) and replace him with a QB that averaged 448 yards a game last year along with 15 TDS and 1 INT connecting on 66%. I would say that was a huge improvement. Over 10k in yards over the past 3.3 seasons. Last year he only played in 4 games.

As a matter of fact Phil Steele named Zappe to his first team all CUSA. I stick by what I said....

I agree with Guns this year's WKU offense will be exponentially better than 2020. The number of potential quality receivers is really exciting. Now how this will translate into wins is the key. Regardless compared to the anemic offense from last fall this should be a fun team to watch.
Piggy is gone, worse QB ever at WKU and that’s saying something during harbaugh years when some games QB didn’t attempt a pass..
