Shameless on Disney's part. Won't the athletes freak out about his Karl Malone impressions he did for The Man Show?
Playing in that SoFi stadium in LA is a pretty big upgrade for the MW, especially after they were booted out of the upgraded Las Vegas bowl.
MWC's #1 selection too. How many years will that be Boise State?
Apparently if you throw in enough money, you can find some bowl game shameless enough to take your cash and accept whatever name you give them.
This has got to be a joke.
That’s actually pretty great.

There have been a heck of a whole lot of less obscure and/or nonsensical sponsors of bowl games. Elk Grove Village, IL sponsored the Bahamas Bowl and, having been there many times, that place is on the list of Top 5 Places That Look the Least Like The Bahamas.

Plus, colleges will literally sell naming rights to literally anything to donors - the John Johnson Memorial Visiting Team Locker Room Bench would be sold if colleges could do so.
So the stupid name and with a way before Christmas date of 18th is the bowl for #1 MW team available? I’d thought it would be an after Christmas bowl.

So the MW best bowl now is the Arizona Bowl.

As in, being done because the person doing so thinks it's hilarious? Probably true.

As in, like an April Fool's joke? I dunno, maybe yes, maybe no. It's been over a month since April Fool's Day.
Don't Bowl Games always have dumb names though? Isn't that part of the tradition?

Agreed, it's a good name. Distinctive, won't get lost in the shuffle of all those other smaller bowls.

Going from Sam Boyd Stadium to SoFi Stadium is like going from Motel 6 to the Four Seasons. It is a huge upgrade. SoFi Stadium is going to be the Taj Mahal of NFL Stadiums. At $5.5 billion dollars, it is the most expensive stadium ever built in the world.

The MWC and the Pac-12 will benefit from the new Raider Stadium and SoFi Stadium. UNLV will move their home games from Sam Boyd Stadium to Raiders Stadium. The Pac-12 will play their CCG at Raider Stadium and a bowl game against an SEC or Big Ten school annually. They will be able to move some neutral-site games from Jerry’s World in Arlington to Las Vegas. With the Rams and the Chargers utilizing SoFi, it might be a little more difficult to add neutral-site college football at SoFi, but I think they will eventually add at least one game annually to SoFi.

I thought the best bowl was the one your #1 team goes to. Nice that the opponent is a P5. Unfortunately it is P(AC)'s #5 which says a lot about where the MWC fits in the pecking order of conferences. That PAC team will probably be 7-5.
I'm old enough to remember golf tournaments named after Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Andy Williams, and Glen Campbell. Might as well have a bowl game named after a comedian.

This actually an improvement from what the MWC had before.

More like 6-6 or 5-6 with the new playoff format. If the PAC has 2 teams in the playoffs.

Or it could easily be the MW #2

True. Maybe the best available MW team will choose the AZ bowl instead to play on NYE instead of two weeks after the CCG.

It is likely to be a 7-5 team. This is the Pac-12 bowl tie-in schedule for this year:

1. Rose Bowl: Jan. 1, 2 p.m. Pacific time, Pasadena, Calif. (Rose Bowl Stadium), ESPN – Pac-12 vs. Big Ten.
2. Alamo Bowl: Dec. 29, 6:15 p.m. Pacific time, San Antonio (Alamodome), ESPN – Pac-12 vs. Big 12.
3. Las Vegas Bowl: Dec. 30, 7:30 p.m. Pacific time, Las Vegas (Allegiant Stadium), ESPN – Pac-12 s. Big Ten
4. Holiday Bowl: Date to be determined, time to be determined, San Diego (venue to be determined), FOX/FS1 – Pac-12 vs. ACC
5. Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl: Dec. 31, 9:30 a.m. Pacific time, El Paso, Texas (Sun Bowl Stadium), CBS – Pac-12 vs. ACC
6. LA Bowl: Dec. 18, 4:30 p.m. Pacific time, Inglewood, Calif. (SoFi Stadium), ABC – Pac-12 vs. Mountain West.
*7. Redbox Bowl (if it is played): Date to be determined, time to be determined, San Francisco Bay Area (venue to be determined), TV to be determined – Pac-12 vs. Big Ten. It is unclear where the Redbox Bowl would fall in the pecking order if it were played.

In 2019, a 7-5 Washington team beat Boise State, the MWC champion, 38-7.

Exactly right.

"Beef O' Brady's St. Petersburg Bowl"
"Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl"
"Insight.com Bowl"

For that matter, the Independence Bowl alone has had half a dozen names dumber than this one.
