Oregon balks in the winning running to allow LSU to advance.

Stanford scores 7 runs in the first inning, then holds on for dear life to beat UC-Irvine 11-8.
To give a quick summary of where the Super Regionals are right now for convenience (mine as much as anyone's, to be honest):

NC State @ Arkansas
Stanford @ Texas Tech
Mississippi @ Arizona
East Carolina @ Vanderbilt
South Florida @ Texas
Notre Dame @ Mississippi State
Dallas Baptist @ the winner of ODU/Virginia (scoreless after 1 inning; if UVA wins, I'm assuming they'll win the bidding process over DBU)
LSU @ Tennessee

Of the final sixteen, six from the SEC, two or three from the ACC, two each from the Big XII, PAC, and the American, one from the Missouri Valley, and maybe one from C-USA.

Each site will, weather permitting, play one game per day either Friday through Sunday or Saturday through Monday. Omaha starts Saturday next week, the 19th.

The ODU/Virginia vs. DBU series will be in Columbia, SC.

It was already announced that Columbia, SC would be hosting the DBU vs. ODU/UVA super.

According to the seeding, UT gets the easiest Super Regional...
ODU leads UVA 3-2 in the middle of the 8th.

Surprise, surprise, surprise. It’s not like their regional was all that tuff either.

3-3 going to B9. UVA up.
ODU and UVA are on to the 10th tied at 3-3. UVA scored the tying run on a WP in the B8. Grrr.
UVA hits a walk-off HR in B10.

Disappointing weekend for C-USA.
Yep!

Devin Ortiz was also the starting pitcher with 6 K in 4 scoreless innings.

Is it just me, or does Texas often seem to get easy supers when their expected opponent gets upset in the paired regional?

From Kirk Bohls (Statesman):
Finally, if Texas can advance out of this super regional, as it should, it will be lumped into a friendly bracket at the CWS and would not have to potentially face No. 1 Arkansas, pitching-rich No. 4 Vanderbilt, No. 5 Arizona, dangerous No. 8 Texas Tech or streaking No. 9 Stanford until the best-of-three CWS championship series if the Longhorns advance that far. On Texas' side of the bracket are four unseeded teams along with No. 3 Tennessee, No. 7 Mississippi State and No. 10 Notre Dame. Now David Pierce’s team has to take care of business this weekend.
Vandy beats ECU in their 1st Super game. Both Vandy runs scored on infield groundouts.

Stanford leads TT 4-1 in the B4. Both teams sporting red, black and white or gray unis. I’ve not seen Stanford with black jersey/hats before.

The problem with Stanford is they only have one quality pitcher. Very odd for the Cardinal, who like us, have historically been a pitching first program. To win at least one of the next two games they're going to have to beat Tech in a likely slugfest.
Sure would be nice to be having these conversations and speculating about how Rice will fare in the supers.

The left side of the bracket does look tougher, but with Vandy's Rocker/Leiter combo, it might be better to be in their bracket -- and let someone else have to face one of them -- than potentially face off with them in the finals.
