Reading the comments off Reddit and this story is bonkers. If their speculation is true, this is going to end up on the likes of 48 Hours.

Wild stuff. Everything in the Reddit may not be 100% correct (but I wouldn't be surprised if it is), but being able to follow something in almost real time is amazing.

It used to be that details leaked out slowly, if ever, and it really was only when a TV show about it appeared did we hear from people in the know. Wild...
That’s some messed up stuff
Some rumors about that place going back months.
That's gonna be 20 points for VT in the Fulmer Cup too.
The video shows three black males leaving his apartment. Definitely targeted, maybe not for murder (blunt force sounds more like they wanted to mug him), but ended up that way (hence 2nd degree charge). My WAG they heard he had something (money, weed) they wanted and thought an easy mark, but somebody hit him too hard and they skedaddled. Expect a couple more arrests.

Rumors are wild. Definitely small town gossip, a lot of it inaccurate, gone viral.
My eyes bleed reading Reddit.

Young men in general don't stop to think that the hazards of fornication extend far beyond just the risk of STDs... and by no means am I excusing the victim; it sounds like there were no innocent parties in this crime.

If there's one lesson for ALL young men, it's this: think VERY carefully before you engage in sex with a stranger. There's a reason God forbids it; it's a LOT more dangerous than you think it is.

God forgives it when it is with your sister or your father - well, at least according to what the Hebrews wrote. 04-cheers

Not sure what you mean there (incest is forbidden in the Hebrew scriptures), but I wasn't saying sex is always ok if you know the person (there's that whole marriage thing); I was only pointing out that casual sex with a stranger is very, very dangerous.
Horrifying story. I can imagine how this football player was raised for him to react this way. No room for forgiveness or empathy. Victim sounded like he had a history as well. Just unbelievable but probably all too common.

There are no innocent parties in this story.
