Good choices, but I might add Hal Greer to that list to nudge Brown or Leftwich off the list.

True... and Jason Williams, Billy Crystal... Troy Brown has 3 SB Rings and is in the Patriots HoF!

I’m going to look at this from a different angle:

Cam Henderson - Inventor of the fast break and 2-3 zone and coached Marshall in basketball, baseball and football. He also won the NAIB national basketball title.

Don Dedmon - Marshall’s acting president in 1970-71 and was vital in keeping Marshall’s football program alive after the plane crash. Without him, none of Marshall’s famous players would ever have played here.

Dorothy “Dot” Hicks - Pretty much solely responsible for the development of women’s athletics at Marshall. In 1974 she handed out the first women’s athletic scholarships. She also coached, tennis, basketball, volleyball badminton, and field hockey.

Jack Cook - Coached Marshall’s baseball team for 23 years leading them to within one game of going to Omaha and led the Herd to several top 25 rankings.

How so? I’m curious. I’m a huge Irish fan. Hadn’t heard this side before.

Pitt needs like five Mount Rushmore’s. Who am I leaving off? Dan Marino, Larry Fitzgerald, Aaron Donald, Mike Ditka, Mark May? Most of those guys are probably not going to make it and they were all ridiculously good.
I will take a shot at it:

Texas State
Paul Goldschmidt
Ricky Sanders
George Strait
LBJ

UCLA
Jackie Robinson
Rafer Johnson
John Wooden
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

I graduated from Texas State and the four years in San Marvelous were terrific, but the school just does not produce terrific athletes. I have taken courses at UCLA and I was a member of the The Westwood Bruin Touchdown Club for 17 years, an alumni group that met the Friday Morning before home games with players, coaches and even cheerleaders. I still have some connections at UCLA.

You get my vote!
Since Frank the Tank already did Illinois, I'll do Penn State.

I'm going to avoid a lot of controversy and just stick to players.

John Cappelletti - Only Penn Stater to ever win the Heisman Trophy
Franco Harris - Pro Football Hall of Famer
Todd Blackledge - QB of PSU's first national championship
Kerry Collins - Should of won the national championship or at least shared it

I can't think of any relevant non football PSU athletes.
Penn’s

John Heisman
Bert Bell
Chuck Bednarik
Chuck Daly

Founding fathers of college and pro football, the last two-way HOF, and then the school switches to basketball.
